False. that will give you an accurate reading.....but you can go with less time 5, 10 whatever...Maybe the best time is first thing in the morning when you are fully rested. Your heart, if healthy can recover fairly quickly from activity, so 30 minutes is not bad, but you can take it much sooner.

Thirty minutes is a bit long, but yes, resting heart rate is a heart rate with inactivity. I would say about 5-10 minutes.

I've always been told it is 15 minutes of resting.
