Yes it makes me feel better. We are so blessed in America to have all the resources that we have. I own 3 or 4 different translations not to mention the audio bible that I sometimes listen to while I'm working

Lots of people struggle to read the bible. It may not be a struggle to READ, more than a struggle to make the time to do it. I usually feel better when I am reading my bible and walking the walk I should as a Christian. It always feels better doing something you know you should be doing.

I think that when a person reads the Bible it must be done with an open heart and above all an understanding that it all leads to one thing, the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
It is filled with hard things to read, but those are guides for us to look deeper into the scripture and find the real meaning behind what is written.
It is written to enlighten, to gain knowledge and wisdom, and to give us a taste of who God is, his love for us and finally the ultimate Sacrifice.
May God help you through your struggles in reading the Bible, pray before you start reading for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and read it as if it were a prayer in itself.

It is only a struggle when read as a historical book. The Holy Bible is not an ordinary book, it is ALIVE in the true sense. 10 persons read the same verse and God gives them a different answer, a personal answer to each one of them. Reading the Bible is like eating healthy food.

Bible verse refers back and forth throughout the entire book, and the meaning of what you're reading sometimes can be known only in context of other verses. So, yeah, it can be a struggle, if you're not a Bible scholar. But, yeah, it has a way of reaching out and touching you even when you struggle. God bless.

It can be difficult in some of the books. I started doing a Bible study with a radio pastor. Dr. J. Vernon McGee, the program is called "Thru the Bible", he justed the book of Numbers, ick, but he makes it interesting and it has been a great benefit to me. I strongly recommend it, his website is www.ttb.org you can get the times and station he is on in your area, or listen online. God Bless.

You are struggling , because you don't understand it. If you don't understand it, How can you feel good about it! Join a Bible study group. Take each word that you read and tell yourself what it means to , YOU! Then try to follow
God's teachings, You will feel good about it then.
If you are sinning , then that would be a reason not to feel good about yourself, Stop sinning. ( no one said it is easy!)

As Mark Twain is recorded as saying "Its not the parts of the Bible that I don't understand that worry me. It's the parts I do understand." (LOL)
Some parts are a little more difficult to understand - or can be "dry" and a chore to read. But it is worth it. So much of it is excellent reading.

Prayer before reading can be helpful.
Prayers for Orthodox Christians Before Reading the Holy Scripture
Illumine our hearts, O Master Who lovest mankind, with the pure light of Thy divine knowledge. Open the eyes of our mind to the understanding of Thy gospel teachings. Implant also in us the fear of Thy blessed commandments, that trampling down all carnal desires, we may enter upon a spiritual manner of living, both thinking and doing such things as are well-pleasing unto Thee. For Thou art the illumination of our souls and bodies, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, Who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Go to www.dynamispublications.org and they have scripture references to read and an explanation.
