We should be grateful to God for keeping His Word. He kept it safe through the Catholics. However, we should love everyone, so I don't really see the point of the question. Who cares what denomination or branch you are. If you study the Bible and do what it says, you are a child of God. Your questions are pointless, and seem to be founded from either a bias, hate, or you just like arguments. If a kingdom fights with each other, then it is divided. Why fight among any fellow brethren of God? John- Yes, many protestants are insulting to the Catholic church, which is the wrong thing to do for sure. Does the Catholic church want to be thanked? I would find that slightly arrogant. The Catholic church did its duty to God by protecting the Bible. So all thanks goes to God for appointing His servant, the Catholic church, to protect the Bible. Do you expect a cop to thank you for stopping at a red light? No, it is your duty. As for the removed books, would you say that the Catholic church is wrong for adding books to the original cannon of the Jews? Of course not. It then becomes a belief in which books are not inspired. Protestants are free to read the other books and decide for themselves. If they aren't inspired, then the protestants will come to the decision themselves with study and prayer. I could turn the question on you to ask how you know they are inspired. As for the Baptists not living like Christians, who cares. Worry about your belief and try to show the people that don't believe the same way, the right way to believe. I can say the same exact thing about many Catholics I know. However, wide is the path that leads to destruction, narrow is the path that leads to life. What is wrong with preachy? You use it like it is a bad word. I am not sure what you mean behind it.

Any religion that thinks that their way is the only way represent that the other people's religions are false, and that the other people are stupid for following that religious path.
Funny thing about the bible is that, while there are 1200 versions of Christianity, and some of these (Romans and Catholics) have been ready to kill each other to claim supremacy each christian religion claims to be the correct one.
There have been many claims by Christianity that have been false. For instance when science claimed that earth was not the center of the universe as the bible claimed, the scientists were punished for saying so. When of course the evidence became easy for anyone to verify, the church had to accept the fact and incorporate it into their religion.
Goodluck with you quest, and dont let the other people or dogma do the thinking for you!

I don't think it is Christianity or the Bible that CAUSES people to be hateful and intolerant; I think Christianity and the Bible bring to light things in people that they really don't want to see and are unwilling to face up to, and they therefore hate the ones who expose their evil.
The problem is not in Christianity and the Bible; the problem is in the wicked hearts of men.
If men would hear, they would find in the Christ the remedy for the sickness in their souls.

No. It gives hateful, intolerant people reasons to look down their nose at others, but doesn't cause it. More than a third of the sermons of Jesus were preaching against just this sort of behavior. He's not the kind of guy to call a prostitute a sluut and write her off as a person, he'd show her the way to a better life both here and in heaven.

I think it is merely a convenient and widely accepted excuse. People ARE hateful and intolerant, it's just that some use their religion as a support for their behavior.

Nope. In fact, 99% of all Christians I've met have been open, loving and tolerant people. There have been exceptions, but they are few and far in between.

It does. I debate with many people with diverse beliefs and opinions-of those only one group lies to me on a regular basis, creationists. They lie out of ignorance and bigotry and that is the result of their unquestioning adherence to scripture.
