I WENT TO MI GP SURGERY TO ASK TO FILL 2 INSURANCE FORMS BECAUSE IM OFF SICK,AND THE LADY IN THE DESCK TOLD ME THE FORMS WILL COST 30 POUNDS EACH,SO FOR 2 FORMS I WILL HAVE TO PAY 60 POUNDS,I HAVE 4 GIRLS AND MI WIFE ONLY WORKS PART TIME.2 YEARS AGO I PAYD IN OTHER GP SURGERY IN THE SAME TOWN AND THEY CHARGE ME ONLY 9 TO 15 POUNDS EACH,I WILL PAY IF I HAVE TO BUT BECAUSE I DO NEED THE FORMS TO SEND TO THE INSURANCE,BUT MI OPINION IS THE LADY IN THE DESCK IS CHARGE ME TO MUCH MONEY.

Yes it's possible. Their private work will be set at their own prices.
Phone around and see if you can get someone else to do it for less. Consider moving surgery again - drastic if you like your GP tho.
If your Dr is charging way above most others, make an appointment and discuss it with them and explain your financial situation. Perhaps they will lower charges - mine did twice - or let you pay in installments (I got this too).
Does seem an unreasonable charge, but I don't know what they have to do for it, nor the risks and their costs involved - their insurance costs a bomb!

Hiya - I know it seems a lot, but effectively you are asking the doctor privately to complete some of your private business - i.e your own health insurance claims.
Doctors don't come cheap and effectively lets say it takes half hour to fill in each form and he has to get all of your medical notes, re read them, interpret them, write them down and give a professional opinion to.
Have you actually checked with the insurance company whether or not they will pay this. I don't understand why you should pay out to make a claim, it seems bizarre.
When I had private health insurance i'm fairly sure that the medical company picked up the tab - check your policy and see if you can get the insurance company to reimburse you.
Hope this helps

If "the lady" is from the ordinary practitioner's place of work, she's mendacity. the only guy or woman you may have confidence to confirm what your insurance pays, is your insurance. If the lady says, "not one penny out of pocket", have her positioned it in writing, on letterhead. If it fairly is not in writing, on letterhead, it would not count selection. She'll deny it later, and you'd be caught with a bill for the entire volume.

Wow thats a large amount.I have paid £10 in the past but what you have paid is ridiculous but i think its at the discretion of the doctor, therefore able to charge what he wants.

This sounds like WAAAY too much to sign a form! Ask your doc how he justifies this rate and, if necessary, make a complain to the BMA

SOME do some don't, yours does.
Question the amount and ask to pay a nominal amount.
