He killed more people than Hitler in mass graves, and he terrorized a nation that celebrated his death... So why are people saying that this war was a mistake and that we shouldn't have gotten involved? America The Great took down Sadaam! Who cares if we didn't find any Nukes?, He was the one who claimed they had them in the first place! Isn't it our duty as Americans to support our troops, even if we don't support the war ? To support our country and our countries representatives? Do Americans even know what patriotism is nowdays?

I dont think he killed more than hitler, and bush has killed more the Saddam. I dont think it's right that a president sent young americans into a war for his own political profit. Saddam was a bad guy and everyone knows that, but he was not a threat to us.

Considering the bloodshed and violence happening now in Iraq on a daily basis, if you ask an ordinary Iraqi in the streets, he'll tell you that the situation was far better during Saddam's rule than it is now. True, Saddam is a brutal dictator, but ordinary Iraqis can do their daily activities, children can go to school normally, people can go shopping, go to movies, etc.. But now, people are even afraid to go out on the street. They don't even feel safe inside their homes. Children are not going to school. Even the basic necessities are gone. There's only water and electricity for a few hours each day. Even going to the market isn't safe, as they aren't sure whether they can still make it home alive.

If this is the sort of "freedom and democracy" that the U.S. is giving out to "liberate" every nation in the Middle East, I doubt that anyone would want it.

Saddam Hussein did not kill as many as Hitler (Sadaam may have been responsible for up to 8 million deaths, including soldiers in his wars; Hitler at a conservative estimate killed anywhere between 11 and 26 million civillians alone), and he was only able to remain in power because of US funding and backing during the 1980s, and because sanctions in the 1990s actually strenghtened his regime, by allowing him to directly control food supplies and by crippling the middle classes from whom any revolution would have come.

The invasion of Iraq has directly resulted in the unnecessary deaths of between 61 000 and 100 000 innocent civillians (sources: Iraq Body Count and The Lancet respectively), and has immeasurably strengthened al-Qu'ida and other terrorist organisations, as well as radicalised a whole generation of Muslims worldwide, putting both the US and its allies (including us in the UK) at a GREATER risk of another terrorist attack (source: The Baker Commission; UK Government report into July 7 London bombings). This is not withstanding the fact that the invasion of Iraq was illegal under international law, and that it sets a dangerous precedent that its okay to attack another country because you don't like the regime, which other countries might follow (think China-Taiwan, India-Pakistan, North-South Korea).

Patriotism is not blindly supporting the leader of your country - it's doing the best for your country itself, even (and especially) if that means opposing the policies of the Government which are putting the country and its people at greater risk. The policies of the Bush administration have significantly increase the risk of another terrorist attack, have stripped away civil liberties, and have resulted in the deaths of thousands of American and allied soldiers, and tens of thousands of innocent Iraq civillian lives. I'd say patriotism is OPPOSING the Bush administration's policies.

Oh and by the way, "America The Great" was part of a multi-national coalition during the invasion of Iraq, that also included the UK, Australia, South Korea, Poland, Canada, Italy, Ukraine Spain and about 40 other countries. So - get over yourselves.

The real problem is, that Americans do not understand middle eastern psychology and attempt to force our ideals on them. BIG mistake.
That's why under our 'leadership' more people are getting killed on an ongoing basis than under Sadaam.
To beat our chests and proclaim how good and just we are, is just sad. All it shows is, we haven't even learned anything from our mistakes and will therefore readily repeat them.
And in the process kill off some of our youngest and best, to no avail.
Let's wake up. Not recognizing this and doing something about it, does NOT help our troops!

Amen! It was the right thing to do for the right reasons. The WMD's provided to Iraq since the 60's by way of Russia, Germany, France, and even the USA, remain unaccounted for. The UN demonstrated it's impotence and apathy in resolving the resolutions. Additionally, totally mishandled, misplaced, AND misappropriated the Oil for Food Program proceeds. I recall the Iraqi citizens, and Kurds begging for our help also.

GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BUSH, & THE BRAVE FIGHTING MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN OF THE USA!

Saddam Hussein did not kill any innocent person. The people who had been killed in Iraq are the pro-Iranian during Iraqi-Iran war which lasted for 8 years .The mass graves are for Iranian soldiers who killed during that war.The US war against Iraq was ignited by Bush under the lies of WMD .He changed the purpose to Saddam connection with Bin Ladin ,then he changed it to exporting democracy to Iraqi people all of which are lies and cheating. Therefore the war was not a mistake only but it is the most dirt crime in the human history. If Saddam killed 148 people who tried to kill him and was killed for that ,then what you say about the killers of more than one Mil of Iraqi people ,and destroyed Iraq and divide iIraqis to fight each other.Bush and cartoon Iraqi government are responsible for all results of criminal war against Iraq and the killing of the Martyr Saddam.

The thing that liberals don't want to admit is that if we don't finish out this war, and prevail, terrorists around the world will see the U.S. as weak. They will think that they have the upper hand and will bring their terrorism here. Isn't it better to stamp it out were it lives, instead of letting it grow, and infest the entire planet?

.sadly, a lot of so called americans now buy into the socialism and big government theory of just sitting here and doing nothing to further our nations way of life and civilization in the world...instead they have been indoctrinated by leftist professors and teachers who were the radicals of the 60's and 70's ....as long as we have this socialist/welfare state of a huge government, the lazy and easily led will keep on insisting we go the way of europe and become old, stagnant, and decaying...while the jihadists and poor people of the 3rd world continue to have kids by the dozens per family, and we have abortion, birth control and selfish individualism...its not hard to see whats going to happen in 50 years when we are overrun by people in our own country who wont assimilate into our culture and instead vote their own reps into office and demand their way of life supercedes ours...then the remaining liberals who brought this down on us will be hunted down and exterminated because these radical civilizations dont put up with womens rights, questioning authority, homosexuals, druggies, or letting a democratic process take charge in gov't....just look at the middle east and venezuala, china, cuba .....the figure to overtake us with births as well as violence...we had better wake up and do something...

I'm not sure if he killed more, so much as more in a certain period of time (184,000 in one day). Adolf Hitler didn't pose much of a threat when we went into Germany, either, but it was clear that he was well on his way to posing a very accute threat.
