Ok my trial version of Microsoft Word expired today , and I don't wanna spend like a hundred something on purchasing it, considering the fact that I already have tons of expenses in college and my budget is limited. So where can I get a free version of it THAT actually works (I've already tried p2p/torrent programs, but they give me nothing but crap)

Downloading commercial software without paying for it is illegal. However, you do have some options.

1. Check with the IT department at your college. Many universities and colleges have software at a discount for students. Even if they don't have MS Office, they may have some other software that will save you some money.

2. If your university doesn't offer a discount, try a free office product like Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) or AbiWord (http://www.abisource.com/).

As Rose posted go with Open Office. It's free and very good. My daughter is a journalism major and uses it because her old man (me) is too cheap to pay $400+ for MS Office.

Open office offers programs that are fully compatible with Word, Excel and other MS software. I use Open Office software in my business and never have had a problem.

Downloading Microsoft products without paying for them are illegal. However if you are a student you may be able to buy a copy at a cheaper price.

Try google. I thought they were offering freeweb based software.

Good luck.
