Wow I was only talking about this the other day!
When my brothers and me were kids we used to have 'butty day' every Thursday and when we came home from school there would be a Mr Kipling Fancy cake each (we used to fight over the chocolate ones), a packet of crisps each, a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter and yep you guessed it, a jar of sunpat cheese spread!! We got to make our own plate of food and cut the sandwiches however we wanted! It was our favourite meal of the week (bless) and my favourite was always the cheese spread! We were talking as a family years later and told mum it was our favourite meal and it turns out we only had that every thursday cos it was a cheap meal and my mum didn't get paid til Friday. She always felt guilty on Thursday cos she didn't think she was feeding us properly, so was quite surprised to hear us say it was our favourite meal and the only one we can remember!!!
I haven't seen sunpat cheese spread for years, if you find any could you let me know, it would be a trip down memory lane for sure.
Hope my story hasn't bored you to tears!!!
Flipping heck sunpat cheese spread is not an American thing, it's very much British. Im Welsh so if I have heard of it then the rest of you are either too young or didn't ever shop with your eyes open!

I used to love this and eat it out of the jar with a spoon !!!!!
I think that it probably went by the way-side as I haven't seen it around for years. Doritos and El Paso do a cheese dip which is very nice, but it isn't the same as the Sunpat version as I think that they are more spicy and runnier in consistency. Still lovely though, and still worth a try if you like spicy foods.

Hi Ali, to answer your question on SUN PAT.
Sun Pat cheese spread came in 1991 and went out of fashion by the mid 1990's so they discontinued it. My uncle used to swear this was the best cheese spread ever.

never heard of it, I know about the peanut butter though, though it's not a thing we like to eat over here in Britain.
