If you are talking about the employers requirement to have the
W-2's mailed by Jan 31st
If by Jan 31st you have not received your W2, call the employer and ask them if they have been sent. If by Feb 15th you have not received it, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 and file a W2 complaint. They wil take a report and send you a form that you can use as a subsitute, you will need your last paycheck stub when you call, along with the name, address and phone# of the employer and what dates you worked for them

If you are talking about recieving your W2 for 2006 wages, the employer may not, as of today, failed to comply with deadlines. They are required to send W2's out by January 31 (yesterday). A reasonable mailing time is 3 - 5 business days. If you have not received a W2 by next Wednesday, the 7th, then this employer may be considered to have missed the deadline.
Also, consider if you have had a change of address during the past year? The employer is required to send W2 to last address they had on file for you. This happens frequently and many people overlook this possibility.

they need to mail it by 1/31, not you receive it by then. If this is your employer (current or past) suggest you give it a few days. Is your goal to get them into trouble or to get your w-2? If the latter, you should be pushing the employer and not worrying about reporting. IRS isn't gonna fine them or send them to jail if they are a couple of days late. Only issue is if they are extremely late or don't give you one.

Is it directly involved with work?....and even if it does , does that mean you have to report it ...I'm sure it would come out in the Fiscal year if it had anything to do with the agency itself....why be the undertaker! ...Sorry I may have misunderstood your question as I noticed maybie others have as well....You need to contact your taxation office and have them take care of it if the agency isn't complying with its obligations.....turn of the tables eh!

I would start with the IRS website. I'm sure they have some kind of information on that subject. www.irs.gov
Have they not got the W-2s done at all or have you just not received it in the mail?

What kind of tax deadline are you referring to? The answer will vary depending on what you're trying to get them in trouble for.
