Although not mentioned prominently, it is a known fact that many of today's athletes are Muslim. Anyone know why, are there certain powerful lines or surahs that cause for this conversion?

Athletes and scientists believe that there must be a reason for their achievement beside their effort.Something has helped them ! Another similar example is the rock star.How many times have you asked yourself this question ?Why on earth would anyone listen to a rock star that all he does is get on stage and scream with a horrible voice and make millions and thousands of fans and dollars ? There must be another reason than his voice.If u keep asking yourself this question for days I believe you will reach the same answer "GOD"

I believe popular opinion holds that the vast majority of athletes are not overly intelligent. My experience in the matter suggests that a great deal of them are in fact, quite stupid.
It stands to reason they would then choose to convert to a mindless religion of some sort which would afford them the opportunity to further gain acceptance outside of their chosen profession and allow them a chance to "fit in" so to speak.
Taking into consideration that most religions involve an imbecilic, unquestioning devotion which does not allow one the privilege of independent thought and that most athletes given my own past experience are barely capable of such thought anyway, a conversion to Islam would fit like a glove.
Islam is not unique to the sheeplike, conformist mindset- it just appears to be the popular choice at the moment. Bear in mind that all religions have at one time or another been considered "fashionable". This movement will pass in time and another will take it's place, be assured.

i guess it is just fashion statement. there are also reports that islam is the fastest growing religion in north america.
i think converting to islam gives them a sense of spiritual high. they are lured into a feeling of spiritual or emotional security.
They want to be different. It is also a move to catch attention. in a country where majority are christian white folks, it makes sense to make a statement by converting to islam.
there is a general perception that islam does not discriminate against black people.
we have many african blacks who are muslim. One of the first converts to islam from africa was a black slave called bilal. He was the first to give the call to the faithfuls to pray.
I dont know of any surah that could link athletes and islam

No certain lines rather it is God who guides them to the straight path of Islamic Monotheism (Dave Chapelle is a Muslim too..)
