Your problem will be in providing proof of ownership.

If you can somehow prove that the guns were yours then they should be recoverable. Otherwise, you are pretty much boned.

If the guns were in any way involved in the crime he was arrested for, then they are evidence. but if they are your guns, then they are your guns. And in response to another answer - I grew up fairly poor in Missouri, and a large portion of the food on our table was shot by my dad or myself, it seems bullets are much cheaper than steak, or perhaps you feel I should have been resticted to porrige? Two years ago my cousin came home to find his children tied up and his wife being raped by 2 men, he shot them both, and we're all very glad he did. finally, the purpose of "the right to keep and bear arms" is so that we, as citizens, have the ability to defend ourselves, not just from criminals, but any invading force, or even, if necessary, our own government. To quotes a t-shirt "if guns were illegal, only criminals would have guns".

As a minimum you will need proof of ownership to whomever seized the weapons.

If law enforcement seized the weapons, it is doubtful you will get them back before an "ATF Trace" is conducted to insure the weapons are legit!

Contact the agency from which seized the weapons as a starter!

Best wishes!

You have to be able to show proof of ownership. If you don't it, you maybe able to get it from the gun shop you bought the guns from or through the ATF transfer records. If the guns were given to you, you are probably screwed.

How many guns were in that vehicle? RPGs as well? What do you need them for? In spite of anything Charleton Heston says...GUNS KILL AND MAIM PEOPLE and every other living thing they are pointed at. They are useless except in the hands of police or soldiers. Forget them unless you want to be arrested too. Grow up!! Find a constructive interest that doesn't disrespect life.

Pretty irresponsible to leave guns in someone else's truck you may not get them back as you didn't store them safely and securely

What kind of guns? If they are legal I woud imagine it is no problem getting them back. Are they for hunting? Or are you part of some militia, which could then be a problem.

Depends - if they were legally registered to you, then after any case against that 'someone' is adjudicated [the guns are evidence]

If they NOT legally registered to you - then never
