Pork is called "the other white meat" but that is only a marketing gimmick. It's red meat.

But I love pork loin! A great way to cook it in the crock pot is with 1 can of organic (doesn't have to be organic but this is usually the only way to get it w/o MSG) chicken broth and 1 can of crushed pineapple, with juice. Add a dash of nutmeg, or all spice with your salt and red pepper flakes. After it's cooked remove the broth from the pot and add corn starch. Boil til thickened, then spoon that over the sliced pork tenderloin on a platter. Make it a carribean style meal by serving it with rice that's made with some coconut milk and mango and whatever other carribean style sides you like, including fruity cocktails. Have fun!

First of all, I'd opt for a pork roast as opposed to a pork tenderloin. Since the tenderloin is the most tender of all cuts, it doesn't need to be cooked for more than a short time and can fall apart if it is. You might want to try a lean pork roast and add your favorite saurkraut, brown sugar, and sliced apple. Serve with mashed potatoes and a green vege. And, if you really want to cut down on your red meat consumption, opt for fish or a vege burger!

try this...yum!

Teriyaki Pork Roast

3/4 cup of apple juice
2 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP soy sauce
1 TBSP vinegar
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
2 to 3 lbs rolled pork loin roast
3 TBSP cold water
1 1/2 TBSP cornstarch

Combine apple juice, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and seasonings in a slow cooker; mix well. Add roast and turn to coat; place fat-side up. Cover and cook on low setting for 7 to 8 hours or on high setting for 3-1/2 to 4 hours. Shortly before serving, make gravy. Remove roast from slow cooker; place on a platter and keep warm. Strain cooking liquids from slow cooker into a small saucepan; skim fat if necessary. Bring to a boil. Combine water and cornstarch to make a paste; stir into a boiling liquid. Cook and stir until thickened. Serve gravy with a slice roast.
Enjoy!! =)

I use cream of mushroom soup and a pkg. of dry Lipton onion soup mix, pour over the pork and crock pot. Do a side of rice.
Or, peel and slice potatoes and onions. Lay the pork in the botton of the crock pot, cover with the sliced potatoes and onions , put two tabs of butter on top and cook.

Brown all sides of the meat in a pan with olive oil salt and black pepper.Into the crockpot add two cups white wine, one onion chopped, two tablespoons of chopped garlic, one teaspoon thyme, one bay leaf, three leaves of fresh sage or (wing it with dried stuff). On high setting for four hours will get the meat to the point where a sharp knife will insert easily and meat will be very tender.I like to serve it with roasted brussell sprouts.Good and very healthy.Peace
