Some questions you could ask:

Why was it formed? (reaction against machine-made objects)

What were its aims? ('joy of labour', 'honesty of construction' etc. -to change social division of labour as well as provide a new aesthetic)

Was it successful? (The ideas of William Morris etc versus the needs of the middle classes -who largely preferred the cheaper machine-made goods)

Who was most influential within the movement? (William Morris, John Ruskin, Frank Lloyd Wright etc)

I think most questions could cover the dates and designers involved, so the choice is yours!
Hope that helps!

You can look at the LACMA catalog from the exhibition "The Arts & Crafts Movement in Europe & America," by Wendy Kaplan, 2004. There may even be info in archived exhibitions on the LACMA website: www.lacma.org
This is a good resource for comparing movements in Europe and the U.S.

Look up peter behrens or william morris. Both were pretty critical to the time period.
