After transplant and open heart surgery, I used liquid Vitamin E on my scars twice a day. You cannot see them now.

It depends on your kind of scars, some have a very god cicatrization and they almost vanish their scars, but some have the "keloid" cicatrization, meaning the tissue is not formed so nice, and a scar is visible, sometimes bigger and pinkier. It also depends on the wound, if it was too deep, it's more difficult, if it was superficial it's easier.
What i can suggest is, get a very very think cream or lotion, and do a massage over the scar, this will activate circulation in the area and help forming a nicer scar.

Yes after a new layer of skin is formed they fade but I don't think they ever go away. When I was young I used to pop mine too and I have scars but with the treatment such as metrogel or proactive they fade but never go away.

What kind of scars? Discolored skin? Gauging? If it's from acne or chicken pox, I don't know--if it's discoloration, try "Porcelena"--use it religiously and the scars( like from a burn, or infection, abscess) will lighten up permanently in about a month.

You should go see a dermatologist, depending the kind of scar, he can propose a cream for it to fade away, but it'll never be completely gone.

vitamin e also works. It takes a while though. I don't think that scars go away on their own.
