The best sure fire way to get the exact answer you want is to just ask them out.Go up to them, strike up a conversation about a mutual interest and then just ask them what they are doing on the weekend.If they say not much, then its time for you to say,"well, would you maybe like to go hang out and get something to eat or go do something fun??" By doing it direct, you get the answer from their mouth and the reaction from their face.Nothing is more truthful than those both combined.If his face lights up and answers you with a positive response than you know you are on to something mutually good.If he hems and haws and makes up an excuse, than you know to forget it and move on.Nothing like the truth first hand to give you your next step.

The simplest solution to a problem is usually the best solution. Pick up a telephone and, to paraphrase Lee Iacocca, just ask for what you want. If the guy is worthy at all, he'll appreciate the approach. If your target is same sex, you're on your own. I've no experience.
