Books as in teaching methods? I don't like Berlitz, personally. There are zillions of online methods and they're free: just pick yours. Then try reading "Le petit prince". A small dictionary will do.

Try Berlitz. You can find it anywhere in the world, including Kuala Lumpur itself.
