First of all you shouldn't be trying to find out if a guy likes you let the guy approach you first, he is after all the man. How old are you?

You say he acts like he likes you. Action speaks louder that words so if he's acting like he does that is a good sign. But there are other signs to look for. Does he seem eager to see you?
Or appear to really enjoy your company? Take one day at a time and concentrate on friendship. Sounds like you have a good start.
