Presume my significant other (non-married), exclusively a US citizen and resident, comes to stay with me in Canada as a visitor for the maximum allowable six month period. She is, legally, not allowed to work here.

Can she, from a computer at my house in Canada, work online for an American company? Would she have to file taxes with the CRA as well as the IRS? How does that work?

References appreciated. I can't find anything.

US citizens are taxed on world-wide income. If she earns money while in Canada, it is taxable to the US.

For Canada, she would pay income tax only if the income was from a Canadian source. If she pays Canadian tax, she can get a credit for that amount on her US tax.

It depends where is she getting her paycheck? If it's in USA, she has to file the tax there and vice versa.
