So, there's this website that auctions off engagement rings. It says that they're normally thousands of dollars. How can it auction off something so expensive for so cheap? Is it a scam? Have you ever had any experiences with the site?

Sounds like a scam. Do your homework. Usually, you want to at least see the ring and the quality before you purchase it.

You definitely don't want to buy a ring without seeing it first. Go to a jeweler - don't buy online!

You need to research the 4 C's - cut, color, clarity, and carat - before you even think of buying.

If you want a cheaper ring, go for a smaller carat weight or maybe a little less clarity. There are many different combinations you can get in an engagement ring that will all be the same price.

Good luck. Don't trust it - it may be a scam!

My fiance` bought my ring on the a website, but it was accredited...We went to that bidz thing and I bought a ring for myself but it was just a plain ring, just because I liked it. The quality was nice it looked exactly like it was suppose to. Bidz.com is basically like ebay only the bidz happen right in front of you...so if you do bid you have to watch it until it ends. They also have rules that if you receive whatever you get and it isn't what was specified on the page about the ring (or whatever else) then you can send it back, and get your money back. I don't believe it is a scam. Like I said my fiance` bought my ring on the internet and it is beautiful. Actually bigger then we imagined and the price was perfect. Just search around though until you truly find what you want, when you find it...get it.

It's never a good idea to buy any diamond, site unseen. You need to see it first to verify the cut, clarity and color...and you'll definitely want to work with the actual jewler or company to ensure that you will have some sort of warranty for at least the first year, in case a diamond is loose or lost.
If you are looking to save some money- try Ultradiamonds.com- they also have stores in most Outlet Malls.

I have purchased jewelry from Bidz.com, and have never had a problem, but I never gotten diamonds from them. I have looked pretty closely at the pictures of their diamonds, and for the most part, they are of below average quality. They are yellowed much of the time, and the clarity is questionable. I have seen very nice diamonds, and off retail pricing on Jewelrytelevision.com. They are also on TV, Cable and satellite, if you get them locally. I got a diamind semi mount from them just last month, and it was beautiful, and very affordable.

I bought my wedding ring set and my husbands ring on bidz.com. They are both really nice looking. I do not know anything about diamonds, but so far the rings are beautiful and we have had them for almost 2yrs now. So I guess its up to you if you want to take a chance or not. If you do not like what you get you can always return it. good luck

I would never buy jewelry online unless it's from an accredited site. Ei. Tiffany's. Shop around some stores and get the diamonds appraised at another jeweler.

I know nothing about them, but the old rule of thumb is still the best - "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
