Which means I don't feel that nervous energy like I used to when I had crushes when I was younger. I've always associated that feeling with love. And that if you don't feel that in the beginning then you should just toss that prospect to the side and start looking for soneone that does make your heart sing. I might be wrong. I'm just looking for some opinions . . I mean some people meet and they hate eachother then they fall in love. . . right?

I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year now and I only get butterflies every so often. I didn't really get them when we first started going out. I did get nervous but not too nervous like I would have gotten for past crushes or something... I think it's just because I knew I really wanted to know him more and be with him. I really liked him so there wasn't any nervous doubts or fears that would give me butterflies. Now I get butterflies at the most random times... when I'm thinking about him or if we're just lying down. It's a strange thing.. maybe this will help a little.
Best wishes :).

You're growing up. Love doesn't feel like your heart flutters. You know you love someone when you can imagine sticking it out through the worst times. It's not a pretty picture at all. You know that you truly love someone if you know for sure that you would take care of them and stick by them if they had terminal illness, turned paraplegic, or got their face ripped off by a bear, or something.

You do not know what love is. You're just experiencing trivial lust.

It's a weird feeling, love, because it happens differently for each person. For me, my heart swells when I see my guy. I also just feel excessivly happy, and that's an amazing feeling.

Not all guys are potential dates. Take your time and find someone that makes you nervous but excited all at the same time!
