I have been around horse racing for many years (Since I was 5) I'm now 49 I have Trained Thoroughbreds for 24 years I'm now 49 I've found the best way to have a "Winner" is have the best horse in that particlar race and when they open the gate to run hope that your horse and Jockey have the best "Luck" all the way to the Finish Line.
After the race cash your ticket and tell people I told you that I would win because winning isn't that easy it may be a long time before you can say that again.

Many have come up with a "system" they swear by.
The most popular was a system that detected class in a race.
Class is defined as a horse that competed against better horses in the past, but didn't necessarily win against them.
Hidden class can be detected if you look for horses that won more coming in second or third.
Generally, I would stick to just watching how horses behave before a race. There are times when a "fresh" horse dances around before a race, showing signs he or she is looking to run well. A fresh horse is one that hasn't run as much as others, or has been off awhile for a rest.
Remember, the game changes from time to time. Track conditions change, the blend of horses running against each other change...everything is subject to change.
Factors going on in a race determine outcome such as too many speed horses fighting each other early, setting up a closer to beat them.
The game is complex, but made easy if you can focus on those animals appearing the healtiest, and ignoring the odds and the literature which is hardly ever right.
I go to watch the many races simulcasted, and hope for an overlooked longshot that appears ready to win.
Don't expect to win a lot, but when you have a decent day, or a very good day, it makes the game worthwhile.

First of all, in order to win a race you need to be a horse.
Seriously, people who bet a lot also do a lot of research. They have horses that they keep their eye on, but they also need to know who else is in the field, the track conditions, the race length, etc. All this factors in to deciding which horse has the best chance of winning. Also, if it's the horse's first time running using Lasix (which is only a diuretic, but the horse may have some strange reaction).
Hang around and see who wins a lot and ask them to help. Most people are more than happy to yap about themselves, especially if they think they're passing on bits of wisdom.

You need horse-power to win horse-race. It is beyond calculations, degree, pedigree, jockey, trainer, owner or gallop gates. It depend totally on sheer luck.

Cheat at all cost. I would whip the other horses as they passed me. Heck, use a cattle prod. Not only is it effective at distracting and pissing off the other horses, but entertaining to use!!
