i've asked this question to a lot of people so let me try this one out on you. Which do you think would be a more difficult relationship:
1) getting involved with someone who's previous partner passed away. assume this partner was VERY loved and held in such high regard not only within the relationship, but within their social circle and the community as a whole

.........or........

2) getting involved with someone who's previous relationship was very dysfunctional, very bitter, and had an angry and resentful ending

i know you have to accept people for who they are... yada, yada, yada... that doesn't answer the question... take the question as it's asked, with the parameters i've given, and assume that everything outside the parameters is equal. give it some thought

it's a tough question... what do you think and why?

I think number 2 would be more difficult because the person in #1 had a good relationship. Good relationships require a lot of skill and maturity to maintain and grow and those skills can be transferred. Also, a person who is well loved inthe community would be more likely to treat his/her partner with respect.

The person in #2 obviously lacks some significant skills and probably has low self-esteem and/or is simply immature. In any case, I would definitely choose #2.

I would say 2 because the fact of someone passing away will slowly sink in but the fact of a bad relationship will stick with the person longer. ( i think) It would be very hard to get over a death but I think the loss of ones self would be harder to deal with like the person has loss faith in relationships and the trust wont be there and that would be harder for some one to deal with but that is just what i think!!

You had a very good question!!! Good Luck if you are in either situation!! If not have a good day!

damn thats a tough one!!! i really dont know what i would do in that situation. both of them have their cons. ther person who lost their partner would probably neva b able to let go just because everybody around them would constantly b a reminder.....but.....in number 2 that person would probably be hard to deal with, but maybe not...it would take a while to get over all the anger and resentfulness but it is possible, just like u can get ova a death. now, they might always expect for u 2 b angry and that can b nerve reckin! so i dunno....u got me confused...

A dysfunctional relationship is worse. It is hard to get around that hatred and bitterness, but if you stay by their side but just be friends with them, you can see the difference when you bust through that wall.

Number 2 would be harder, the person would be hard to make happy. The person would always be leary.
