If your Social Security payments are your only source of income, you have no taxable income and will not receive a refund by filing a tax return.
But there is a small refund available to anyone who paid a telephone bill during the last three years. File Form 1040EZ-T to get a rebate of the telephone excise tax. Here is the form and instructions.

What kind of money do you want to get? I don't think you will qualify for a child care credit or earned income credit.
If you have had taxes withheld from your social security checks or have paid estimated taxes, then file a return and claim your refund.

If you recieve a 1099 or simular document you do need to file for income tax. If you do not have many deductions maybe the 104EZ is for you. It is fairly easy to fill out. In minutes you can find out if you are owed a refund. There are also certain guidelines that change every year if you fall below a certain amount you do not need to fill out taxes. Check and see with IRS or your local library or Senior center can help you.

SSI and SSDI are not taxable forms of income. You also aren't paying any taxes, so wouldn't qualify to get anything back. The money you receive on disability is from tax dollars. You actually don't have to file taxes in your situation.

You have to file taxes no matter what you are on, most definitely file your taxes. there is a form for disabled persons to get a tax credit for being disabled. go to the tax office and get the form for your doctor to fill out also. Take care Heather

Did you work while on SS?
If you havent worked and paid taxes, then you wont have any money to get!? The money comes from taxes you paid while working.
