I sucked my thumb for a pretty long time, and did wear braces but only for a short period. I don't think the thumb-sucking was the reason.... but my jaw shape... My teeth r just fine now...

I used to suck my thumb so much, I looked frikin Bucky Beaver!!! When I was about 5 my mom brought to me to a specialist who told me that he was gonna give one year to stop sucking my thumb or I would need braces when I got older. Needles to say I stopped and now I have great teeth!!!!

Obvisily you have braces for a reason. appropriate enamel. you do no longer want to bite the gum with the sugar for the reality that sugar isn't stable on your enamel. I bite sugar loose only because of the fact i'm a gum addict. attempt to discover a sugar loose gum that does no longer stick. i like Trident. you recognize those people who've white spots on their enamel after braces? that's from sugar. shield them good the 1st time and you will no longer could concern approximately them later. Braces are no longer low priced.

i sucked my thumb. dont think it made my teeth how they were, tho. i think a lot had to do with how my jaw was genetically engineered.
my sister also sucked her thumb, and she has straight-as-a-board teeth.
