Ok 6 weeks exercising and gaining weight huh? It could mean you are a little swollen.... muscle weighs more thatn fat yes, but i'd say it's too early to say you have already built muscle. Another cause could be your diet is not adequate, did a nutritionist give it to you? let me explain... if you are eating less calories thatn those you need, your body might "feel" it's dying... and starts saving nutrients and fats as a survival measure. Surprisingly, if you eat more, your body knows everything's ok.... Go see a nutritionist, it will help. Also, drink LOTS OF water, before, during and after exercise, cut the salt, no fry foods, no junk food...
Well, they say If you wanto be healthy, you need to eat, drink and do what you'd rather not.
Don't leave exercise, your bodies will thank you. Be patient, you'll see the results soon.

For one thing, muscle weighs more than fat, so if the scales go up when you are excercising, that is a good sign that you are gaining muscles. Don't get stressed, that is bad for your husbands bp! Don't miss the forest for looking at the trees, you have started a good thing, and good things come to those who wait. Patience truly is a virtue, but so is diligence! Wish you the best.

I guess it depends on what your diet looks like (are you on a specific diet right now?). You may be eating healthy, but you still might be eating too much.
Keep a food journal to see what your calorie intake looks like. You may be eating too much - you might be eating too little. Once you get a handle on where things are going wrong, you'll be in a good position to figure out what to fix.
Sorry this isn't very specific, but it's hard to know what is going on without details. Keep up the exercise!

perhaps it would be better to join a club such as weighwatchers? My sister thought she had put on 4 pounds according to her scales but it was wrong. The time you weigh yourself should be the same each week for accuracy. you could also consult your gp to rule out food allergies or metabolism disorders such as iodine deficiency or something. Good Luck!

keep up with what you are doing Friend. The scale is your enemy. Muscle weighs more that fat. It takes more than six weeks Friend. Give it some real time.
