i am going to college for education right now, i am anemic and there are days i feel soo weak, one of the days was exam day , i just happened to miss my exam, i couldn't even try to reach my teachr because i was soo tired, i told him about it the next day i came to class, he is thinking about letting me retak, he isn't promising anything. he also says he'll give a bonus credit of 20 pts. next week, i think i had a good reason to miss it, being anemic is a challenge so what do you think, will he understand in the end and let me re-take the exam worth 50 pts?

Study and have faith that he will show you compassion. Thank God that he did not say NO outright. Be wary of improper advances to allow you to make up the exam. If need be, get a letter from your doctor stating your condition. This could help tremendously. Ignore anything that any jerk in class might say concerning any advantage the he/she might perceive that you have. Anemia is no advantage and I imagine that it is very difficult for you to stay focused on your studies. May God truly bless you and cure you of this debilitating condition. You are not in a competition---college in not a competition, but an opportunity for experience and growth. God is already impressed with you, so there is no need to impress anybody else. Jesus loves you.

So you have a legitimate excuse for not taking the exam, although one can argue that there is some way you could have gotten word to your professor BEFORE you missed the exam, and now you are asking if you should spend your time studying for it in case he lets you retake it? Is this the gist of what you are asking?

You better study for it poste haste in case he grants your request and wants you to come in at the earliest possible opportunity to retake it. You can't say something like you want to take it next week because if you do you will be telling him that it may have really been more a case of your lack of studying rather than your health that caused you to miss it.

Well, I was anemic too, and I didn't miss school at all-so I find it a little bull. Are you just letting this get to you and make you more sick so you can use it as an excuse? If so, shame on you. go to the doctors , and have them prescribe you iron pills, or something else. I took iron pills and it worked. I was also coerced for my own good to eat liver-since it has a shiit load of iron, as well as raisins. I know you can be mature about this and take care of yourself, but because you are lazy you are using your
health as an excuse-tsk tsk. If I was the professor, unless you had a doctor's excuse-I wouldn't let you take. This is college, real life hunny, if you don't mature and learn to be responsible -it'll bite you in the as s and no one will care. Remember life isn't fair, and your mom won't be there to hold your hand. Having anemia is no excuse, I even tried out for soccer, and I made the team even though I was so weak, and I bled a lot, because I wanted it-and in the eyes of success-lazyness doesn't count, nor an illness that isn't deadly. And believe me, it was hell-but it was worth it. Mind over matter. And, start taking iron pills-that will help you,seriously-if you give a damn.

If you missed on a day you were to have an exam you should have already studied and been prepared. I hope you get to make it up. I used to have days when I just couldn't go to class because of migraine headaches. I was greatful for understanding teachers. Good Luck

No. Personal responsibility. If you already know you are anemic then you should have and you should address that issue on a daily basis to be able to accomplish whatever goals that you are aiming for. If I were your instructor and you missed one of my tests there would be no make up and I would encourage to you repeat the class in the next semester. Sure you can miss as many days and tests that you want to because you are too weak because you neglect your own personal responsibility. But financially you should be responsible for your laziness. The instructor shouldn't have to spend time catering to your bs.

It happened to me when I got the flu on exam day. Go to your doctor today if possible and get a note to give to the professor describing your medical condition. That should convince him. And yes, study.

i say study, there is a good chance he will be sympathetic to your situation and let you retake. if he was dead set against it he wouldnt even be thinking about it. and worst case scenario, if he doesnt let you retake, you'll know the material inside and out. perhaps a doctor's note stating your condition might sway him...just a thought. Good Luck!

why didn't you study before if you missing the exam was a last moment thing? It sounds like you are making excuses. Hopefully your prof is nice and yeah if you haven't studied - doing so would be wise

If you have some sort of verification as to your anemia, even if he says you can't take the exam,I'm sure the college has some sort of review board that would consider your condition and make the exam available to you. Good Luck! ;-)=

You have a problem and I feel for you. Find a friend and tell them your situation. Maybe they would agree to helping you when you begin to feel weak. What is the advice of your doctor when you begin to feel weak - could a friend help you? It is important that you work out a plan to cope - a friend will help & support you.
