I'm going to do a spread for my friend, who has been having ongoing financial difficulties, with no resolution in sight. I want to try and give her a hopeful, detailed spread - any suggestions what to try and what cards in particular are relevant in money related questions? Thanks for any suggestions!

The Celtic Cross is good, but it might be a little much for a beginner. You could start with a simple past-present-future 3 card spread and see how that works for you.
When you get more familiar and comfortable with it, one spread I really like is the Golden Dawn spread.

1) Take the deck
2) Shuffle well
3) Cut the deck in four equal parts
4) Place the four sections back together.
5) Go into the bathroom, flush the whole deck down the toilet.
