My x says mid-week dates are more serious than weekend dates. I disagree because mid-week, if you have to work the next day, are definitly more casual because you can't stay out as late, and spending the night together is almost out of the question. What do you think?

I meant x-husband. And we do see each other on weekends as well, not just during the week.

One could argue both ways. Mid-week dates could be more serious because you're making more effort to make the time--and I don't know about your parents (excuse me if you're not living with them), but with mine, spending the night was absolutely out of the question. It only happened once, and that was because a) my mom was home, and b) there was a dance, and nobody felt like driving him the hour-long trip back home at midnight.

However, weekend dates do allow for more possibilities, and spending the night can happen if you have the means. It's happened a couple times this semester at college because my then-boyfriend's roommate went home for the weekend.

People say mid means more than the weekend because weekends are know for just hanging out and going on the prowl. More one on one time to get closer etc. not just staying up late. And you can stay overnight, just pack and leave on time for work etc. Just like a motel trip.

Sounds like maybe he wants to date you during the week and see someone else on the weekends...
