There would be no church buildings, lots of roads, and streets would have different names, it would be a vastly different world.
Religion has played a huge part in the development of the world.
There would be no Pyramids, no Stonehenge.

I doubt it would make the world more peaceful, man fights man for many reasons other than religion. If all people were truly religious, and all religions preached peace, then there could be peace through, probable delusion.

Some religions founder the best principals on which we should base life, like love, caring and helping others. Religion also forms unity among people and foundations for people in-need to gain inspiration and support from. Other religions breed hatred and murder forming boundaries between different cultures. The whole world revolves around religion and uncertainty looms in the minds of those who don't believe in anything. I don't think the world wouldn't exist without religion because nothing would ever have been created.

well without religion would be a much more peaceful world but what religions should go and not go is the real question here but i can honestly say a world without christianity and islam we would have a more peaceful loving and kind world today. but if all religions where removed the diviristiy wouldnt be there anymore and we would just still fight about who has the right answers and who has the wrong answers. humans are indivituals with there own ideas and there own beliefs but when it comes down to it it all depends on the religion itself to make a more peaceful world today.

The only thing that could have prevented religion would be if they already had us all hog-tied. Religion is a control device, basically. It's evil.

It is of note that the question isn't world without God, it's world without religion. Religion did not create the world, and it is not telling anyone to seek the truth, it claims it IS the truth, It claims to BE God. And that is its evil lie.

But as long as we pick up religion like a weapon, we cannot claim to be its victim.

Religion can actually be seen as science in its infancy. Primitive men found themselves at the mercy of the elements, and began looking for ways to influence nature to their benefit. They simply didn't understand the real causes behind the perceived effects, and so invented "Gods" on the model of their fathers, whom they could petition to make rain, grow the crops, etc. But at least they had developed the idea of cause and effect, which is the seed of science. Later, with the advance of knowledge, we came to better understand what causes rain, etc, and our old conception of "God the Rain-Maker" was tossed out as primitive superstition.

The "problem," of course, is that not all of the savages are able to grasp new ideas at the same rate - and so we still have people today who cling to "beliefs" which properly belong to the late Bronze Age.

In short, religion represents a necessary step on the way, but some people are stuck on that step while others have moved on.

In the early ages, scientists were killed for their discoveries/achievements. Then, there was a constant war going on outside and within the country("holy" wars in most cases). The king was able to execute who ever they want, whenever they wanted under the so called the name of god.
One of the country went corrupt because of the kings' "strong" belief in the God. Since the religion was very important in those ages, the king was able to gain popularity. But because the king only cared for the religion, the economics, etc. went corrupt.

The religion had no effect but to gain peoples' respect.
Which was useless in the society.
Became one of the weakest country and was easily taken over.

I think it's human nature to create something like religion to believe in. If there wasn't religion there'd be something else, or the same thing with a different name.

After all, religion was created as a form of social control and to create answers to things we still can't actually scientifically explain.

Yes and no, if there was no religion, someone would always have a reason to fight, like skin color or, who is the better inventor, poet etc. However maybe those wars wouldnt be as bloody as the ones about religion. heres hoping! then again im sure that too much technology coupled with ego can cause serious problems.

It may seem that way at times but no it would be much as it is now as the religious people who cause the problems no nothing of spirituality which is seeking love to give to all. It is that religions are run by people and not the Prince of Peace.

Not likely any more peaceful.

Conflict would still arise between countries, races, genders, etc, etc.

As long as we identify with a small tribe or group, there will always be outsiders and hence conflict.
