kuala lumpur, Currency USD1 = RM3.76
1. u can visit petaling street - they sell designer clothes and handbags.. a shirt should only cost u RM20-25, handbags should only cost u between RM50-1++.
2. For electronics cameras, laptops, pc softwares do visit low yat plaza.
3. Near Low Yat Plaza, theres a mall called Bukit Bintang Plaza where u can find everything inder the sun, mobile phones, PS2 games and accessories, clothes, shoes, wigs, salon hairdryers etc.
4. For cheap quality clothes consists of linen fabrics or cottons (for ladies) u should go to Nikki Fashion City near Sungei Besi, they manufacture clothes which are meant for the malls and exports. Ranging from RM30 onwards.
5. U can get nice Malay Batiks, Chinese Cheongsam, Indian Sarees all over Malaysia.
6. If u love Ferragamo, its cheaper to buy it from Pulau Pinang Airport compared to KLCC or the KLIA Airport.
7. If u fancy gold, its available in 22-24 carat, and platinum. Its comparatively cheap and comes with value.
8. If ur mom fancy embroidered quilt covers, have a quick look in Aussino, they usually have fantastic ongoing sale. Aussino store is available in Midvalley Shopping Ctr.
Langkawi:
Its known for its Queen Annes (crockeries set) if u fancy that kind of stuff.
Sarawak Borneo:
Its known for its beads and handicrafts. However some handicraft shops in Bukit Bintang do sell these items from Sarawak. Mostly decorative clay vases, urns etc.
Tips on taxi:
1. Most malls has dedicated taxi queue and these taxi drivers use meters. Try not to stop taxi by the road side as they tend to tell u their fixed price. If u do stop them by the roadside, insists on using the meters.
