Try and be to the point, but give details...I want to see how differently you view it than from a man's point of view. Thanks!

A great date is a date you and the person decides on doing. Like, after talking and what not, try to find a time that the both of you like to go out. Do you like to go out on a date in the afternoon? Then, you may go out to a movie of her choice (or, the one where you both have not seen but would like to). Then, take her out to a nice lunch of a bistro or restuarant or where ever that appeals to the both of you. Find a nice area (away from the bathroom and/or the kitchen) for you two can sit at and talk, chat.
Now, if it is at night, go to either a dinner and a movie or a movie and then a dinner (sit and talk about what you think about the movie if you are a little too shy figuring out what you should talk about). That is a nice ice breaker. Remember, before you see her, give her a small bouquet of flowers. Nothing big like roses (unless you want to) or what ever other flowers, but a nice mix. Or, a simple rose would suffice. Depending on the city you live in, or where she lives at, walk her home, if it is possible. If she does not want to be walked home and feels that she is fine, call her within 15 minutes from the time she left and check up on her (she may do the same herself) and tell her that you had a nice time and hope you two can do this again. Then, in a couple of days, call her and she how she is doing.
This is my idea of a pretty good date.

Wow, it's been a looooong time since this old married lady has been on a date, but I'd say that great dates are when the conversation flows and we really connect. What the activity is is not nearly as important. The WORST dates I had in college were with really insecure guys who seemed SO nervous. Some funny things happened, but 'funny' does not make a great date.

I haven't had a date in a long time but I would do something where you could be able to talk and have fun at the same time. You can't really do that in a movie theater. def have dinner and or drinks if you do that thing. Then I would try something like a fun place like fun park like Dave and Busters or some sort of museum or aquarium so you can stroll and talk and look at neat stuff at the same time.

I'm a simple girl. My favorite thing of all time is the drive-in movies. A warm night on the hood of a car watching a good movie with the man I love is perfect for me.

Hmm, lets see, my ideal date...

Ok, we meet up for coffee in town and have a chat, then he takes me somewhere nice, like for a walk by the sea or to see a theatre play or something like that.

Then he takes me to a really nice restaurant, one that serves the food I like so that I know that he's payed attention to my likes and dislikes.

Then back to his for a warm mug of cocoa and an open fire and a nice film and a hug :-) Oooh, and presents me with boquet of 12 roses and a massive box of chocolates :-D

Dinner at someplace nice - doesn't have to break the bank. maybe leave there and go to another nice place for drinks and dessert. Any place where you can go to talk is great.
