What is the best meal you can think of to eat before a strenuous workout? I go to college, so think college food lol. Something that I can eat in the cafe' or lunch hall that would help me get energized before work outs. And help with my body building.

Cause the other day I dont think i ate the write meal... I just felt so tired, and not egar to perform!

Thanks!!

Excuse the mis-spelling. It should read "eager".

I was not aware that this was a college English class. But apparently it is.

Here's a couple thoughts to start off with Kyle. First, not every workout should be 110%. I think you should have easy workouts and hard workouts, just not back-to-back all out workouts.

Second, I don't think you should eat right before a workout. I think being finished with your meal at least 2 hours before working out would be optimum. In my running days, I would eat a banana and coffee on the way to morning running events, and had no problems. But eating a meal and run before 2 or 3 hours was the pits.

So I'd try to make your meal 2-3 hours before and maybe a fruit or juice an hour before workouts.

Good Luck

Before a workout you want to consume about 30-40 grams of fast digesting protein, such as whey protein (use a protein shake). Also, you want to eat about 40 grams of carbohydrates. I usually divide this into fast digesting carbs (a small apple), and slower digesting carbs (a couple pieces of bread, or a small bagel). Try to eat this within about 30 mins of working out.

need high carbs. bowl of oatmeal is great. no coffee, lots of water.

not to be picky, but how do you get in college without learning how to spell? think you meant "right" and "eager".
