My cat is constantly dragging her butt on the carpet and I am moving into an apartment with beige carpets, this is going to be a disaster if I cant get her to stop...short of putting a diaper on her to prevent "skid marks", is there anything I can do to make this stop? Pleeeeese Help!
Thank you!

Yep, there's a reason she's doing that! Cats have anal glands that can become swollen and uncomfortable, and she's probably trying to relieve that discomfort. Take her in to the vet, and they can take care of it for you, and then she shouldn't "scootch" her butt around anymore. Good luck!

She is having problems with impacted anal glands and a vet will need to take care of it for you. Do is ASAP as your cat is probably very uncomfortable

This could be anal glands (not a common problem in cats but it happens) or it could be parasites. Take your booty skootin kitty to the vet and have them express her anal glands AND do a fecal exam just to be certian. :-)

Hi there...cats who scoot their bums usually have impacted anal sacs and need to be expressed by a veterinarian. Sometimes worms can contribute to the behaviour, but this is mostly due to the anal sacs needing to be expressed.

this sounds to me a anal gland problem, they are very uncomfortable and need to be squeezed to relase the fluid build up, take her to the vet as soon as you can and all will be better for you and your kitty
