Weighing is a little problematical because the composition of the US penny was changed from bronze to copper-plated zinc in 1982. The newer (1982 on) pennies are 181 to a pound (2.5 gm each). Bronze pennies are 146 to the pound (3.11 gm each). A quick look at the pennies on my dresser suggests maybe 40% of the pennies in circulation are the old bronze cents. That would give you 165 per pound, but the actual value could vary considerably.
