I heard that some dogs have died from it within the past month. I didn't buy my bags before christmas (when the bad stuff was out), so should i still stop feeding my dogs it anyways?

I heard that with at least one dog. HOWEVER, the person stated that there was a tan mold-like substance on the food. IF you see that, don't feed it to the dog, return it for another bag. I can't fathom why someone would feed their dog a food that didn't look right.

I heard about this from my rescue group, and I would certainly stop feeding it for the time being anyway. While I agree with everyone who touted the benefits of a natural diet, that wasn't the question, so I will avoid that issue. Oh, and Purina IS saying that there is a problem, at least the last I heard, and is taking steps to rectify the issue. They should, they currently have a huge market, and wouldn't want to diminish it with a coverup.

The Beneful dog food thing is not true - call them
Call 888-236-3385, i just did.
As for dog food in general i agree totally with GSDJunkie - and my dog gets cooked meat every day (one time), he also loves and eats any vegetable which he also gets, the beneful is a choice he can make whenever he wants it - it is always available to him. He also takes a pet tab every day-just in case any thing is missing from his diet. I have a healthy dog.
More people should really think about feeding a carnivore what they were meant to eat - MEAT.
What do you think dogs eat in the wild, and what did people feed dogs before there was commercial dog food available

I was told by a vet and some rescue folks that Beneful is a bad food all together. Not a healthy choice at all. Basically they told me if you can find it in the grocery store or walmart it probably ain't worth giving to a living thing. The best place to get dog food is the specialty and/or feed stores that have the better foods in stock. Chicken Soup i am told is one of the top foods.

I've heard about this, I believe it's being recalled.

Beneful is crap anyways, full of fillers, corn, sugar and artificial coloring. Get your dogs a better food.

The best place to get your dog food is the meat aisle. Since they're carnivores, they should be eating a carnivorous diet, which is MEAT, bones and organs 70/20/10

Dog food is crap.

Don't feed this crap to your dog regardless of when it was made. buy a natural food that is high quality such as Nutro, royal canine, or Authority
