Call him. Us guys are always left hanging, worrying whether or not you ladies liked us or not. And most women are like, "I'm not going to tell him I like him. He has to do everything for me, but I don't have to do anything for him." If you really like this guy, wouldn't it be nice to tell him. If he knows you like him, he will focus all his energies on trying to make you happy because he knows that it is worth it. Most men are not going to running after a woman who just sits back and never responds to him. He is going to be cautious because he doesn't want to waste his time chasing a woman who doesn't show interest.

It's been 2 days... Only 2 days.
Give him some time. It may take another week. And if he doesn't call you back, then (don't take this personally), he probably doesn't want to go out with you again. If that's the case, well, that's life. Happens to the best of us.
Either way, it will work out for the better

Yes I would call just to say thank you for the date and also tell him that you had a nice time, and if he ever wants to see you again that all he has to do is asked. he could also be busy. good luck.

wait for him to call. Thanking him for the date 3 days later smells like desperation. You would REALLY be calling because you hope he asks you out again.

Wait for him. He's a guy, so give him a bit more slack than 2 days. He'll probably call tomorrow. He's probably procrastinating or trying to think of what to do on the next date.

If I had a particularly nice first date and do not want to come across as clingy or too eager, I just send a brief email. I tell him I had a nice time, enjoyed his company and look forward to seeing him again. Nothing more, nothing else.

I think it is ok to call him and see how he is doing, then tell him that you had a great time and hope you can do it again sometime. Just strike up a conversation.

Really, as nice as that sounds, I would wait for him. Don't put him in a bad position. If he wants another date, he'll ask for it!

Sure, call him. Just tell him you were thinking about him and you wanted to thank him again for such a good time.
