I decided to get to know this girl that always sits next to me in class (for about 4 weeks now), i decided to talk to her and get to know her better. At first she was playing with her hair when we started chatting. She greeted my conversation with a smile and seemed genuinely interested in the conversation. Then the professor started lecturing and she was fidgeting with her earrings, playing with her hair (grooming...?) and passively bitting her nails the entire time.

What do you guys/gal think? (That was yesterday)

UPDATE: Today we talked more freely and we had a pretty engaging conversation. She laughed at everything i said, funny or not. She wasn't afraid to invade my personal space and look at my notes either.

What are the chances she's already taken?

Best way to find out is to ask her?

It could be that she is interested in you. But in order for you to really tell you might want to give it more time to see how things go with you two. You might try becoming her friend first to see what kind of a person she is which it sounds as if you are doing. Just give it some more time. There's no sure fire way to tell from this if she's already taken because some girls are just natural flirts or they are just good with people. And sometimes, as it does turn out she may just be being nice. I have been nice and friendly to guys and then they come up and ask me out and say I was flirting with them (which I never knew I was doing.)

So your best bet is either to give it more time and be friends with her or just come right on out and ask her if she's interested and would like to go out with you. And I know how hard it is to ask someone out, but really you don't have anything to lose.

I wish you all the best!

well she could just be a tease or she could be interested. but biting your nails doesn't necessarily mean someone is into you. i do that all the time. wait awhile at least another week to see what other signs she gives you. if there is still no answer to your question i would just ask her if she has a boyfriend. then take it from there. no sense in waiting around when there is a chance n opportunity may pass you by. good luck.

Ask her if she has a boyfriend. Not straight out though. Be creative. But the body language is definitely there for your aspects.

first you should never think she likes by those little things, but you should just try playing with and joke that you like her and see where it goes or what she says about it.she may like you but as a girl i would not say she does by that info.

She's showing interest. Take a chance and ask her to coffee or dinner.

I'm guessing she'll say yes.

she seems somewhat... girly but if you think she's nice and you like her, then maybe you should ask her out if you think you're at that level, but if now, just get to know her better.

umm... ask her. make it in a non-chalant way though. it is the only way to remove doubt. but do it sooner rather than later. GO! NOW!
