The only thing that is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy is abstinence! I never believed that until I got pregnant.

Yes, I have first-hand proof. I took my BC pills everyday, at the same time, but back in December I was put on antibiotics for a very bad cold. Well, guess what? A month later went back to the doc's office, because I still had a nagging cough, and SURPRISE I'm pregnant. This has been the first time in the five years that I have been taking them that they were not effective. So, for the short answer, YES you can get pregnant on BC pills. Go out and get a hpt, or make a doc's appt. to be sure. Good Luck!

OK, Yes you can still get pregnant on birth control weather you are take the antibiotic or not. Birth control is only 99% effective that is why even if you are on birth control you should still use protection. so if you feel that you are pregnant take a test or go see and doctor and have them do the test for you.

birth control is only like 98 percent effective, when taking antibiotics you are always suppose to use a backup method because it becomes even less effective. YOu could possibly be pregnant. if something doesnt feel right I would take a pregnancy test and make a appoinment to see a doctor in the meantime.

Yes, you can still get pregnant if your on birth control. Birth control when used correctly is usually only 97% effective, and condoms 99% effective when used properly. So there's still a slim chance that you could get pregnant. And your right, antibiotics also lower the effectiveness of birth control. While on antibiotics, you should always use a back up method.

An antibiotic can alter the effectiveness of your birth control, yes. It is possible that you can get pregnant even just on birth control. It is only 98 percent effective if taken EXACTLY as written (same time every day, etc.)
The only way to tell if you are pregnant is to take a test. Good luck!

The pill is only 99% accuracy so there's still a chance but I think it's one in a million. However with you taking the antiobiotic that could be why your having irregular periods but I'm not sure. Check with your doctor to find out.

Yes, you can get pregnant while on birth control. No method (even sterilization) is completely effective. However, as far as antibiotics go I think it depends on the kind of antibiotic. I think some affect the effectiveness of the pill, but not all do. You should make sure the doctor who prescribed the abx knows you are on bcp.

YES! There is always a chance, I know if you are on the pill and take St. John's Wart, the pill becomes almost completely ineffective, don't rely on just a pregnancy test, you may not be pregnant, but if you feel something isn't right you need to follow your body and heart only you truly know when something isn't the same, go to the doctor have a blood test and check up, tell him/her what your feeling, good luck.

If you are taking an antibiotic while on birth control the chances for you to get pregnant increase. I'm suprised the doctor that prescribed the antibiotic to you didn't inform you of this. The best thing to do is to get a pregnancy test and if that doesn't put you as ease see your OB/GYN for a blood pregnancy test. GOOD LUCK!

Yes, nothing is ever 100% effective, there are always chances of getting pregnant. The only advie I have would be to go get a pregnancy test- then you can stop worrying about. The chances are slim, but I wouldn't rule it out. p.s. your period could be irregular because your stressing out about. The more you stress the more irregular you'll be! Good luck!
