Because it reminds you of childhood when your mother used to cut your sandwiches into small pieces for you and it brings back good memories :)

Cos recetangle sandwiches always taste like the dodgy jam sandwiches which kids squish into the bottom of their school bags but triangles look like someone has taken care with them.

Because it is different maybe sub consciously it reminds us of parties
Cos party sandwiches are always in triangles
I always cut my sandwiches in triangles too

They look posh cut that way.
I suppose the triangular sandwich shows off the filling better. you get a decent bite of sandwich with the best bit!

The point of the triangle just contains the middle of the sandwich with all it's feelings and it just pops in your mouth! I think it's probabyl more psychological though!

Probably psychological, but it's true. I always cut mine in triangles, I think it looks more attractive and therefore tastes nicer..

i dont know but i only ever eat a sndwhich if its been cut in to four squares wont eat them any other way but then i am slightly unhinged :)
