i do hope that what youre saying isnt true. i think the real problem is the things we eat. cancer has been thought to be caused by eating GMOs. for me, its not use if you find a cure. there has been enough damage on your body already and you are going to live with it forever. the issue here is the food that we eat. they say that most of the food available have already been sprayed with pesticides and other artificial products. and lets not forget radiation.
i really do hope that the big pharmaceutical companies arent doing that. and i do hope that they would find a cure for cancer and aids really soon

My friend...dont waite for the doctors...some people know of these cancer cures....and billions dont know.....here it is...its not the only one, but its an effective one.....this is my copy and paste to help everybody that needs it....i hope i am in time.....next day it if you must...
Please stop all the chemo therapy and doctor recommended medicines right away. Doctors dont want you to know of the alternative medicines that can actually CURE CANCER. If a doctor tells you the alternative medicines, they will be out of a job. How much does it cost for chemo therapy each time you take in those chemicals? This medicine is better and only $75 dollars a bottle. Each bottle lasts a month. You take an ounce per day, and after each dose, you eat a banana or eat potatoes. its called "CESIUM CHLORIDE."
The problem with chemo therapy is that they always say that they never know how each person will be affected by the chemicals. You could die the next day, or you can die in a month. BUT, you cannot live past 2 years. So, its not a good garauntee that you will extend your life for 2 years. The reason is because chemo therapy is a toxin. A poison that kills your body. And if it kills the cancers before it kills you then you are cured. And if the cancer dies before you die, you probably wont live past 5 years. Because even after the cancer is killed, your body is completely deteriorated. I bet you cannot ask 100 people who knew someone who went to chemo therapy and lived more then 5 years after defeating cancer. You might get lucky and find like 2 people. What are your chances that you will be that 2 lucky people that live? So, how good of a cure can chemo therapy be?
The key to defeating cancer is all over the net. But the people who sell these alternatives cannot say on their labels that their medicines cure cancer. It is against FDA rules. The reason is because if this is done, then doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceautical companies cannot make any money. So, according to FDA, it has to be stated on the bottles that it is for vitamins only, etc etc.
You can go find these medicines and take care of your cancers in 3 to 12 months. Just listen to me as I dont make anything off of this. I am only here to help. I am sick of these doctors and big companies making money off dyng people. Doctors wont tell you either. Its against their rules. Well, gee, they were ones who created these rules, so go figure. I believe there were like alot of medicines that take care of cancers. There is a top 10 list somewhere. I think cesium chloride is listed number 1 or 2 on the list.
I found a good bottle of this on www.nutrition2000.com. I think this was the address. You can always search the internet. Get the one that contains rubidium (I think this is how it is spelt). This helps your body absorb the medicine. Good luck my friend. And please pass this information to everybody you know that needs it.

I understand your frustration but feel that it is misguided to blame the AMA and pharmaceutical companies. To begin with cancer does not have borders. People all over the world have cancer and because of this many other nations besides the US are conducting cancer research. You would need to believe that every single nation is involved in this conspiracy. Have you ever investigated or questioned the European or Asian pharmaceutical companies and doctors? Are they involved too?
European Organisation for Research and Treatment of cancer
http://www.eortc.be/
International Union against Cancer

Chinese Anti-Cancer Association

The more you read about cancer and research the more you will understand that it is an extremely complicated disease . . because it is not one disease but hundreds.
There are already some cures available for some types of cancer. We also know that cancer caught in the early stages is not only treatable but curable. The problem is with metastatic cancer and rare cancers . . it is far more difficult to stop the progression of these diseases. But not impossible. So, much depends upon each individual, their age, their overall health, their response to treatment . . that it is really far too simple to try and play the blame game. Cancer and its treatment for hundreds of diseases is complicated. I doubt if there will be just one 'cure' for all cancers.
Incidentally, my son is covered under insurance and his bill is way over the one million dollar mark . . instead of blaming the doctors and pharmaceutical companies . . shouldn't you be questioning why your insurance is not covering this treatment????
If money is the issue than there are many services that can assist cancer patients.

I totally agree. Nowadays, medicine is a business. These people don't care about the patients, or cures. All they care about is that almighty dollar.
I truly believe that there is a cure for a lot of things. And I know what you're saying, I hear you. If there were cures for all that is wrong with us, where would the money be? Right?
You're right, there is no money in "cures".
Sorry to hear about your sister.
May I suggest something?
At this stage in the game, have you consulted Hospice? They are excellent in dealing with this kind of thing. When patients and their families are no longer looking for a cure then this is the way to provide yourself with some kind of support system. The nurses that work for a hospice entity are special kinds of nurses. They are very skilled in this field and can help your family and your sister deal with these issues. Even after all is said and done, hospice will be there for you for up to a year later. Please, don't take me the wrong way here....I hope all the best for you, your sister, and your entire family. However, you certainly are NOT going to get compassion and support from the medical fields that you are dealing with now. Some of the hospices are nonprofit, so you know they aren't out there doing anything for the money.
Good luck to you and all the best.

There are so many different types of cancer, which cause disease through many different mechanisms, that there can not be one cure for all forms of cancer.
Finding a cure to any form of cancer would be very lucrative; it's nonsense to think that cures for all cancers are known but are not available due to lack of economic reward. For example, the drug Gleevec can cure many people who have a rare form of leukemia (CML) and brings in billions of dollars per year for the pharmaceutical company that discovered it.
The challenge is that discovering an effective treatment for a disease requires research. Research is expensive and is still hit-and-miss since there's much more that is unknown than known about our biology. Even after discovering a new treatment, developing it into a drug that is safe in humans, more effective than existing standard treatments, that has tolerable side-effects currently costs close to a billion and takes over 10 years to go from discovery through clinical trials to market.
Unfortunately what is needed is more research to develop a better understanding of each form of cancer and how it can be neutralized. Many treatments are expensive, but they help fund research into new, more effective treatments.
Even though your sister's treatments have cost a fortune, that cost funds research that gives hope for better options in the future. I suggest joining a patient advocacy group and channeling your angst into fund raising or lobbying the government to shoulder more of the financial burden to discover a cure.

I think you are understandably angry that her treatment did not work, or at least did not work as well as you would like. The reality is many cancers are curable, but every cancer and every person who gets cancer is different. There have been clear improvements in technology and treatments over the years in terms of increasing success of treatments measure by survival.
Unfortunately, there are still some people who do not do well despite our best efforts. Treatments for cancer (and for many illnesses) are very expensive. It requires millions of dollars to develop and bring one new drug to the market. It takes a lot of time, money and skill to develop treatments.
Trust me if there was and easy cure, doctor and pharmaceutical companies would embrace it. We have loved ones too.
I would suggest you channel that passion. Get involved with the American Cancer Society. Or even better get a degree in biochemistry or medicine are help work on the cure yourself.
Be very careful of those people who recommend Kevin Tredeau and Hulda Clark. Both of these people are major scam artists preying on angry and disillusioned people like you. Check out the links below.
As far as witholding cures because of money, there is certainly no evidence of that. In the 1950's the most common reason for surgery was to remove portions of lung destroyed by tuberculosis. This virtually never happens anymore. No one has contracted small pox nor died of it in decades in the entire world. In the 1970's operations for peptic ulcer disease were very common; starting with the developement Tagamet (cimetidine) the need for ulcer surgery almost disapppeared.
Right now there are far fewer open heart operations done than there use to be becuase of techniques developed that are safer and as successful. Right now companies are working on drugs to treat atherosclerosis. If successful, there will not be enough jobs at convience stores for all the cardiologist and heart surgeons who will end up unemployed. Yet, I can assure you that virtually everyone would welcome the developement of such drugs.

If you invented something to cure cancer, and you didnt release it, you're a pretty shitty person. Yeah, Id take the million. Youd probably end up with more than a million from people wanting information out of you, and you could invest that million...well, you get the picture. I honestly believe that there is possibly a cure out there, and its not being released because, sadly, cancer is a huge business and there are people making tons of money off of it. Same with the common cold. We seem to have cures for obscure diseases like Polio, but god forbid we cant find something to clear the snot out of our noses.

Many people I've talked to over the years about this believe there already is a cure for many cancer's, but, as you said, it would put so many out of work (Dr's, labs, pharmacie's, hospitals, etc.) or severely cut into their finances, that it's being withheld from the public. If true, what a sad world we live in. Money is the "root" of all evil. Just sharing the thoughts of other's I know. I'm sorry for your Sister and your families.

It's hard not to be bitter when all efforts fail, but I don't think there's a conspiracy at work.
Also, while surely most doctors save life for the sake of saving life, a cure for cancer would be extremely lucrative. If Bill Gates (the richest man in the world) is happily married, imagine what he would pay and what he would borrow to have his wife cured if she were suffering from it (and as far as I know, she's not; I'm just using her as an example).

AMA AND FDA--
The American Medical Association (AMA) and the pharmaceutical companies control medical law and the FDA in this country with heavy lobbying and a revolving door policy. WHY would they want to do this? It's about the money. In 2004, medicine (doctors, hospitals, researchers and pharmaceutical firms) received 1.1 TRILLION dollars--1/4th of the total earnings (GNP 4.4 trillion) in the U.S. This is astounding, because it's like 1/4th of our citizens--about 75 MILLION people--worked the whole year just to pay the nation's medical expenses!! That's TOTALLY astounding, and just too big to care about individuals.
And GREENBEAN's answer is right on the money! I have that book too, and it has helped me immensely.
