There's no scientific evidence to show that rapists have a genetic predisposition to rape, so no, you won't be a rapist due to your genes. You control your destiny and your own choices. You could always get counseling if you're really fearful of becoming a rapist. As for your mother, while it's hard to deal with what your brother has done, she'll just need time to deal with it in her own way. Life goes on, and she'll have to go on too.

No, and no. who knows, no, stay on the good side, and no.

No, you seem to know right and wrong well enough and be well enough disgusted by your brothers actions not to be like him and do the things he has.
No, I don't think it can be genetic - although personality traits do run in families I do not believe that you will be a rapist if your brother, father or uncle are.
Your Mom will have a hard time w/ this for a long time. Mom's always blame themselves for their childrens actions. So you can help her by being the positive example.

Read this response if you are being honest: I think you probably should be concerned. I would say that if you are worried you might be prone, it probably means you are having unusual urges and thoughts. In that case, all I can advise is that you try to find a culturally-acceptable outlet for these urges. You probably can find one. Don't stop looking. Counseling is not going to do it. Channel it into something legal. It'll still be abnormal, but it will be legal. Then, don't go talking about it on Yahoo!

Read this one if this is a shtick: Son, there are better creative outlets than Yahoo! for this stuff. Why don't you write a goth novel or something? I say 99% chance this thing is bogus. Why don't you stop torturing all the suckers here on Yahoo! answers? You know that cliche about stealing candy from a baby?

That you're worried says a lot about why you won't cross that line. If you feel really worried about it you might try to find someone you trust to talk to. Or ask for counseling to help you sort thoughts out. It could be in order with all your family is going through. Remember, feeling impatient is one thing, how you act on it is the deciding factor.

Being a rapist is a choice they make, I know because i am a counselor at a prison dealing with sex offenders. If you become a rapist it is because you chose to become one. If you feel you might become one then you should seek counseling immediately because you have control and anger issues that need to be addressed.

As for your mother she should not blame herself for your brothers actions, and should probably see a counselor to address any issues she feeling as a result of your brothers behavior.

When people commit crimes, it does effect family members. So remember there are lots of victims for every crime that is committed.

i definatly think that it isn't genetic. You just need to observe the fact that your girlfriend dosn't want to have sex yet, and you have to be ok with that also. He probably had an anger problem. and if you are that scared of doing that then maybe you should hold off for a while on dateing. but thats just what i think.

ok calm down. What happened was a horrible horrible thing.
Just by you being scared shows that you won't be a rapist however you should probably talk to a therapist or something.

Each individual takes their own path and way of living, but I have been married for while and you have to get used to the ladies having off nights, not like it but understand.

Proven fact, it is NOT genetic but a learned behavior. Go see a shrink ASAP to calm yourself and take your MOM!!!! It will be harder for her to cope and she better get some help!

It's not genetic--you brother just has SERIOUS problems. You might turn out like him, you might not. It's up to you--and I really, really hope you decide not to. You'll go to jail and most likely hell if you do.
