Yes! Here are some articles that explain that weight gain has been attributed to not enough sleep. I also heard somewhere that if you don't get enough sleep everyday that it slows down your metabolism. Also, the fact that you are not eating anything is extremely unhealthy. If you are having trouble sleeping I would suggest going to see someone. There are healthy natural ways such as CD's, etc. that may be able to help. Start eating, get some sleep and you will feel 100% better!

You don't necessarily gain weight by not sleeping, but studies have shown that people who get full nights of sleep regularly (7 or 8 hours) usually maintain a healthier weight. I'm no scientist, but I'd guess that getting a healthy dosage of sleep keeps your metabolism running at a more efficient pace, and gives you more energy during the day to burn calories.

I don't know about gaining weight, but I do know that not getting enough rest can keep your body from losing weight. Rest is very important when losing weight. I suggest at least 6.5 hours a night when losing weight. The weight gain could be from being up and possible eating or water retention. At least try drinking more water when you are awake at night.

No, it's probably b/c u don't eat much that ur body is conserving the food it does get, and thus the weight gain. Sleeping should reduce the amount of energy used, if anything.

Poor sleep habits are clearly have been linked to weight gain. Many people are likely to drink and eat more if they sleep less, although the mechanisms may be more complex than this. If you are have that much difficulty sleeping, you probably should discuss it with you doctor.

Yes you'll gain weight if you don't sleep enough. One reason is that the body manages cortisol during sleep- if you don't sleep enough, your cortisol goes up and this causes weight gain.

I think you lose more weight when you sleep poorly, it all depends on your body structure and metabolism really. Eat more fruits, if you don't like fruits you could add some fat free yogurt (i don't like fruits btw). Don't just drink water, is not healthy!
