Keep it as simple as you can without seeming cheap. For my first anniversary I cooked an entire meal of seafood (cause we both love it) and the extra touch was shark! He loved it.

Fix something you know she'll love, that doesn't take a lot of the time away from quality conversation. And I'd go with White Wine.

It depends on many factors. I would love a romantic dinner in front of the fireplace. Champagne might seem a little pretentious, kinda fake. You want it to be about her, but you want to be comfortable doing it too. Something for both of you to enjoy. For dessert get a fondue set and dip fresh berries in the chocolate. You can feed each other. Super romantic. Or you can dine out and do the wine and dessert at home. You can do a buggy ride if you have access to it. Picnic by the lake. Many possibilities. Make it fun and not too over the top. Have a great date!

Well you're on the right track about being real. That's a plus already. If you're already set on the wine and dine theme, I think you personally should cook something (unless theres no way in hell it'll come out right). When a guy cooks for me, I am so utterly impressed, it isnt even funny. Make sure if you make something out of the box, add your own spices and seasonings so it's your own personal touch. If you decide against cooking, I think you should not take her to the most expensive place... Go to a place that you like and would share with someone special. As for the specific alcohol, I just turned 21, so I'm not really educated on all that jazz yet. As long as you like this girl, and she can sense it, she's gonna be so radiant off your energy she just might not pay any attention to what's in her glass. ;) go get em tiger!

Try a champagne cocktail; start with a fairly dry champagne, put 2-3 drops bitters on a sugar cube, drop in champagne flute and pour bubbly over the top. It is elegant, refreshing and romantic. As far as dinner, well, I like quiet, lush and elegant restaurants where they actually employ chefs as opposed to "cooks." I can't spell it but I'll try...Chateau Breonde..? my favorite

I am going to guess you are young, but old enough to drink..say 23??? You don't have much confidence in yourself and/or haven't dated for some reason. So I will cut to the chase. Take her out...most girls (people) like Italian and red wine goes good with that, then either do a movie after dinner or go dancing depending on how comfortable you are in that scene...just relax and be yourself (you are cool, right?) and be confident...even a little cocky doesn't hurt.

Wine....Champagne is gross....yuck. I'd prefer a good dry red wine any day.

Take her out somewhere exclusive (possibly with a dress code). This means you need to be in a tie...which is sexy....and it'll also give her an opportunity to glam it up.

You don't even have to tell her where you're going, just that she needs to look her best! She'll prolly love that.

If you cook at home, it should be something you made yourself, and wine is very nice-I think more people view champagne as celebration-related...if it's at home, make sure your place is really clean.

If you take her out, how about one of those restaurants with a great view-like overlooking a valley, or the ocean or mountains,--depending on your location.

If you really want to impress her, show that you know what she would like rather than what a bunch of anonymous women on yahoo would like.
