London is more interesting as it is the capital, but it is not very beautiful all higgerley-piggerly building-wise. Bath is an old town, with some beautiful structures including the Georgian Crescent houses. Exeter has a magnificent cathedral and Tudor buildings, including the Tudor house that `moved`( it really was jacked up and moved to another positon about 35 years ago when a new inner by -pass was being built) There is also the smallest street in the world there "Water beer Street", it is only about a yard wide! It really is a street though! Lancaster is a very old town in the North of England. It has the famous Lancaster Castle actually right in the centre of the town. The old Lancaster Girls` Grammar School, is this year celebrating its` 100th year, so there will be events for the town as well as the `old girls` (of which I am one!)There is the old Lancaster canal which runs through the town,it is still used by barges for commerce and pleasure, There is the old port connections on the River Lune where ships from across the world unladen ed their goods in days gone by. There is Stratford -upon-Avon, where they have the famous Shakespears` theatre, where the plays of its` favourite son are performed. There are so many beautiful towns in England that you are spoiled for choice; and we are luck to live in them.

London is one of the world's great cities. It offers the tourist access to palaces, monuments, prisons, and cathedrals that were at the core of western civilization for centuries. World Class museums abound: they include some of the best museums to be found anywhere and cover science, natural history, art, fine arts, books, medieval weapons, and more. From St. Paul's Cathedral to Westminster Abbey, London is blessed with churches and cathedrals that will spark your imagination and demand your attention. The shopping is fantastic whether at Harrods, the shops on Regent Street, or the boutiques at Beauchamp Place. In the last decade, London has developed a fantastic set of new restaurants and offers an ensemble of foods from international destinations.
