"Die Pig Die"
They come up begging for food one minute, then as soon as their bellies are full they stand alongside the road throwing rocks and bottles at American Humvees going down the road.
I went in feeling sorry for the Iraqi people. I left with almost a hatred for them. Is that the wrong attitude to have?
Does anyone else who has served feel the same or had similar experiences?

I wasn't there. You were, so you're entitled to your feelings. Hatred is a very destructive feeling. It will eat you up inside. Remember that they were only children. I'm sure they were hungry. When you're starving you will take food from your worst enemy. When their tummies were full they expressed their true feelings I guess. They're probably just parroting their parents' feelings, which isn't very nice either. But let your negative feelings go for your own good. You did your job and it's over. Try to get on with your life and fill your heart with love, not hate.

I feel ya. Its funny, when you have food or candy, they are all smiles and waving, but the second you run out of food, they start the shouting, and its happened to me more than once. People wave at you as you drive by, but 2 seconds later, a round bounces off the truck. I went in, as you said, not with a feeling of sorrow for them, just indifference. I had no desire to be there, just as im sure they didnt want us there, but it felt good to see the smiling faces and waving people, but after a few dozen rounds bouncing off the truck, and a few ied's, and seeing how they turn on us, i too, left with a hatred for the iraqi people. I know not all of them are like that, just as i know, there are unsavory people in our military, but i can't help feeling that if things get worse over there, they will all turn on us. I feel safer with the hate my friend. I've lost friends there and don't want to see anymore.

I'm sorry that you feel this way. Hubby has the same feelings and some worse. He finally decided that seeing a counsuelor would be a good idea. It took him nearly three to get to that point. I would go see a military counsuelor and talk about it. You may have Post Traumtic Stress Syndrome. Get checked out now and get help, the feelings just get worse.

this in no way has anything with American bombs dropping on their schools, homes or hospitals? making them run behind a tank for a glass of water? rape and killing of innocent people? we see the videos on the news regularly. i gotta tell you buddy, Iraqi kids aren't the only ones that don't like American troops occupying a innocent country. you are pretty small minded, take a step back and take a look from the world perspective. you guys are pretty lucky, with the rest of the worlds pity for u, its the only way your once great country survives.

Murderers.

You simply came because you were not aware of the problems in Iraq, thinking that everybody would clap for you after you've ousted Saddam. But the truth was that the man has those who loved and admire him. Besides, the shiites that lured you into Iraq were simply exiled Iraqis that were willing to do evrything to kill Saddam and comeback to their motherland once again.

The Iraqis had their peace and tranquility before your arrival. You changed all of that. Iraq is now a country at the brink of destruction. Majority of these kids are orphaned by American bullets or American isntigated suicide bombings. There is imminent danger of civil war and cessation in Iraq. Would you love anyone that do this kind of thing to America. The answer is a capital NO.

You know first hand, not me. But I've heard the same thing from other people from being over in Iraq.

And don't second guess yourself about hating it overthere. At least, that's how it sounds. You did your time and you learned what it's like. Complain all you want!

We have spent a LOT of money and shed a lot of BLOOD for many ingrates there. What I want to see is a ROI (Return On Investment) and VERY SOON!!! And I don't much care how it is done. Pacifist liberals can go in a corner and see if they can figure a way to extract their heads from their bumholes while we raze some places to the ground!!!

This is one you wont see on any of the network news. Not on CNN or on Fox. Neither side wants to show this. But it does happen.
Regardless, we have a job to do so we do it. They are just children. Thats not defending the actions, but you have to keep in mind they are only acting out on how they are raised is all.

Yes. Not all of them feel that way though. Sometimes you just have to have faith that doing the right thing will make a difference and count for something and in the end be enough.
I know that it is hard and sometimes impossible especially while you're there.

I know you did the best you could and for me that is enough.
Thank you for serving.
God bless you and your family.

How would you feel if another country invaded the U.S. and everyday you could be another victim of warfare. Put yourself in that kind of situation before judging all of Iraqys. No I am not a Iraqy lover, but living in that cynical city is close to hell.
