disprove evolution? Why are religious people (some, but not all) saying that everything not in religious doctrine is the "work of the devil" when even some of the greatest scientists were religious? Were they the "devil" too?
I'm hungry. i think I'll eat a Peanut Butter sandwich in honor of the PBGoddess.

Dono't tell me to read the bible. Don't tell me "god said so". Tell me what YOU think, not what you've been told to think.

Left libby, you realize it's that attitude that is unacceptable? Yup. I don't like fanatics, but I don't hate religion. Religion simply is not compatible with me.

religion is a concept that needs to be considered carefully.
I consider the PBGoddess over most religions. For in her is part and all of the wonder we need to examine.

A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe. Evolution is a scientific theory. It's not yet been proven. So to believe in (atheistic) evolution would be to believe that the universe came into being randomly, was made by itself, and has no purpose other than to live and evolve.
So what proof does my religious doctrine have to disprove your religious doctrine? None. Beliefs are the mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or confidence in another. You can't use beliefs to disprove beliefs. Because they're not provable facts.
Rather you should ask what evidence is there to disprove evolution.

The Bible says that man and dinosaurs (dinosaur was first used in 1884 - the original text of the Bible was written way before that. In the Bible they are called dragons, Levitation and behemoth) lived together, evolution says that they were separated by millions of years. But there are several places around the world where there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock.
Also there are mammal tracks in rock that is suppose to be older than the dinosaurs.
At the rate the oceans are getting saltier (even with the polar caps melting) the oceans would have been fresh water only a few thousand years ago.
The helium level in our atmosphere should have stabilized in under10,000 years, but it is still changing.
The moon is moving away from the earth, it would have been rolling on the earth's surface only a few hundred thousand years ago.

I just finished answering a similar question. I said that you can't argue with a religious person about science. Their mind is closed to anything not thought up by uneducated, superstitious guys who lived two thousand years ago.
They knew more than all the science that has been passed on from the earliest times to the present. Each building on the knowledge of those before him. Science has grown from the very most primitive to all the wonders that we have today. Religion is stuck with what those superstitious guys came up with, back in those primitive days.
We have our choice, believe one or the other. As for me, I'll go with science. We can see what science has done.

They dont have proof.... the bible is fiction as far as im considered....
I mean think about it.... It was just a written form of gossip about minor accomplishments that were blown entirely out of proportion. I mean honestly has anyone ever witnessed any of these so-called miracles?? no!
However science has proved time and time again.... that things that we have today (animals, plants, even humans) all were derived from some form of lesser being or organism.....
Now do i think that there isnt some sort of higher power at work guiding evolution? maybe....But the religions we have today with there over Zealous attitude about it "what is written, must be" is completely ridiculus

I am sick and tired of saying I believe in Evolution when you Atheist cannot seem to get that through your thick heads. Your hate of Christians is so strong that you hear nothing and therefore make fools of yourselves. Is this the ONLY argument you have against Christian and Jewish beliefs???
I believed in Evolution before I came here to Yahoo Answers and nothing you atheist say will change my mind about it. Find another topic. I already know many scientist are Christians, many are friends of mine.
Eat your peanut butter and take a nap. LEFTY

Do my eyes deceive me or did this guy just say that "some of the greatest scientists were religious?" That statement is true, by the way. So why have the evolutionists on this site been berating believers with the so-called information that it's science against religion?

With that question I can see all the idiotic answers of foolish people. The influence of the "World" has got the Human race by the balls. The Evil One watches and laughs at Mans pathetic plight and lies in wait to steal their soul and seal their fate. "Science" is a word Man "invented" to explain the systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation. "Religion" is a word Man "invented" to explain the specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of person or sects. God "invented" Science. God "invented" Man. God gave Man the capability through cognitive reasoning to explore it. What does religion have to do with science? What does religion and science have to to with God?...The Truth?.... NOTHING!! ...... The "World" makes it that way!! Let's not get the two confused!!

The simple fact is that Christianity is a faith. If you have true faith and belief you do not need proof.
There are three types of Christians - true believers who have true faith in their beliefs.
Doubters who lack sufficient faith to truly believe and therefore seek proof.
And, lastly those extremist who will do anything to try and force their opinions on others and who are not afraid to bend truth, rubbish science etc.
True believers, atheists and most other religions can exist in peace together. Those lacking sufficient faith are beset by the devil and those who are extremists are doing the devils work!!!

Anything that serves to disprove the Bible, no matter how true it is or how much proof there is, must be a lie because the faithful know, at least the ones that don't accept reason, that anything that questions or disproves their beliefs must be a lie.Unfortunately, there is no better answer because the Bible is treated with more reverence by some people then what you can dissect under a microscope.
