My Mom recently showed me this embroidered linen item. Her Mother, my Grandmother gave it to her never explained it though.

In the middle of the linen was a crucifix, to the left of the crucifix was a lamb (passover?) and above the lamb in the left corner was what I think was the Star of David. To the right of the crucifix was a Menorah.

Does anyone know why someone would embroider those four symbols on the same linen. What do you think it means?

Serious answers only.

Okay JIMBA JAMBA or whatever the fu#k your screen name is. I said serious answers only. Yes I am Catholic, I think that my mothers family were jewish and converted sometime around the time Hitler came into power. Though my Mother would never admit it. Problem with you Atheists you can accept no ones beliefs-if they don't agree with you then you hate. I accept your non-belief. Don't try and change me and I won't try and change you!!!!

Uh I don't think the majority of the Christians have Jewish symbols. Yes, I know that Jesus Christ was born of the Jews.

Shouldn't have called the cross a crucifix. Wrong word,

You have (almost) confirmed my guess. The crucifix is a Catholic symbol, the lamb is a more broad Christian symbol, the Star of David and the Menorah are Jewish symbols. My guess was a wedding present for a Catholic-Jewish couple.

Forgive me if this seems too basic, not trying to be difficult here - you are sure it is a crucifix? You know the difference between a crucifix and a cross?
