Religion is a lie about God.

Once you free your self of the lie you can start to have a real relationship with God/Jesus with out the nonsense and limitations that religion imposes.

love and blessings Don

Christianity is not a religion in the defenition of the word. True Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ on a personal level. The church is good because it is where you go to fellowship with other Christians and grow in knowledge and understanding. The best thing to do is pray as much as possible and read God's word just as much. Prayer is not a ritual, just talk to Jesus while driving or sitting on the couch. He is always there and will always listen. Just acknowledge he is there like you would a very good friend, because that is what he is.

Ok, you are a believer. Religion has NOTHING to do with it. Religion is what people practice and Jesus, in the new testament, called the religious leaders of that day a generation of VIPERS (snakes). Does that tell you not to be religious? It does me. Forget the traditions of man, Jesus spoke against that also, and Believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead. Believe that in your heart (soul) not your head. Believe means to trust in, rely on, and adhere to. Now that you are saved you must continue in the Word, which is Jesus according to John. Do as Jesus says. Here are some things that most denominations leave out which makes them religious: Faith is defined in the Bible, see Hebrews 11:1. Love is defined in the Bible, see 1 Corinthians 13. the GOSPEL is defined in the Bible, see 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. The last one is what they leave out. Most churches can't tell you what the gospel is other than good news or that it is Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. WRONG. Read the new testament and read the Psalms out loud, as they are proven prayers of prophets and kings, and worship God in spirit and in truth. Most people just sing. Learn to worship God either by singing or just saying that, " I worship you Father, Praise God, Thank you Jesus." Let God lead you to the full knowledge of him. God Bless

Dear Doug,

Good for you for asking!

I believe it means something very similar to what I have been saying in other answers I've given. I believe that religion is man-made and there are nearly as many religions as there are human beings.

But "embrace Jesus" I think is referring to having a relationship with the Author of life. It is divinely made and the Author of life is NOT the author of chaos or confusion.

In God's eyes you are every bit as much a Christian as those who you might refer to as "adult Christians." We are all of us Works-In-Progress.

I do not believe that it is necessary to reject religion to embrace Jesus. There are many different ways to understand God and get closer to Him. Some people are deeply spiritual and you can see it in their lives, especially in their actions and attitudes towards other people. Such people may be very religious and frequently attend a specific church, or they may be only marginally religious and almost never attend any church. On the other hand you could attend church daily but never internalize any of the spirituality. Someone was probably just warning you against making such a mistake.

Well it goes along these lines here.

It's called stimulation or conditioning.
The best way to see this is through the media generated manufactured consensus.
Here we are conditioned to a conclusion in a precognitive manner
Via media stimulation of a particular program that has an agenda while maintaining a myth to support an assumption you are getting all the facts, thus leaving one feeling that He/She is learning freely something totally true.
In simple terms it is called media mass manipulation.
God is in your heart not the news. In your secret chambers not a stone building, that is for fellowship. You are the temple.

Jesus EXISTED. And he still EXISTS. He performed many miracles, even somes the Bible never mentioned (such as speaking in his cradle and giving life to birds made of clay). But remember, the beautiful and mighty Jesus(as), was, is, and will always be a Messenger and Servant of God. ALWAYS. Please do not make the grave sin to associate him with God as His son or anything but a Servant. The gravest sin; do not commit it. Jesus(as) Never died. And he is going to return very soon. OPEN YOUR EYES OPEN YOUR SOULS before it's too late

The early history of Christianity:

While the "gospel" (good message) was simple and somewhat pure, the message of Jesus seemed to spread like wild fire. Historians, then and now, are puzzled by how strong and fast the message seems to spread.

How could a small group of people, in a remote part of the world, carry a simple main message with a few instructions that would almost immediately spread, and change the whole world? (Well, not the whole world, only about every continent except Asia.)

You know who they were. They were hunted criminals, bums, outcasts, alcoholics, tax collectors (pariahs of the day), fishermen, radical zealots, TV exercise equipment demonstrators, and a Sanhedrin named Saul, who later changed his name to Paul.

What happened to these Christians when they were caught by the Roman soldiers or church leaders? They were imprisoned, tortured, and fed to the lions. But, I will tell you one thing that never happened to these Christians when they spread the Gospel to their friends, neighbors, fellow fishermen, and gathering crowds.

They were never ridiculed. How can you, objectively, ridicule someone who tells you;

"You have hurt me, but I forgive you."
"If I have hurt you, I am sorry, please forgive me."
"I am not afraid to die, because I know that if I am nice to you, I will go to Heaven."

If you ask a person, "How do you know you will go to Heaven after your death here on Earth?" How could you ridicule their answer, if their answer was, "It's easy, Just close your eyes and ask (God) for the Holy Spirit to prove it to you".

If you were serious about your request, and the Holy Spirit came to you mentally and physically, and convinced you of eternal life, how could you ridicule the messenger? At that point you could hardly ridicule the messenger, because you had or have become the messenger of that simple Gospel with those few instructions of forgiveness.

But then in 325AD and then again in 1611 Religious Empires corrupted the original scrolls and threw out any scroll that did not lead toward the building and growing of selfish empires.

I reject religious empires but I embrace the message of Jesus.

Religion is the man-made structure for worshipping. All too often, it takes off from what Jesus said about worship and begins to create non-Biblical rites and rituals, much the way the pharisees did.

in my opinion religion is man made..... Catholic, Mormon, Jehovah witnesses, there are many others out there ....anytime man adds to the bible his own theories on how to get to heaven other than by Gods Grace........ I try to walk as close to Jesus as I can ....I accepted him as my Savior....I accept that I was and still am a sinner and that he died on the cross for my sins ........I do attend worship and I attend a church which is non-denominational.......... but I pray that the Lord will give me his wisdom and discernment over what I hear........as mans word is not Gods word.....I believe that the bible is Gods Holy word and nothing should be added to it or taken away from it. But the best thing I can tell you is to talk to others in your fellowship......your pastor.....and pray......talk to god yourself........he wants you to know him and his truth...ultimately God wants a personal relationship with you....God bless
