I am not impatient...actually...i am.

I just started working out for the first time in years. I have gained about 40 lbs and ust started a jogging program. I work out about 3 or 4 times a week...on the tredmill for about a half hour.

How long should it take to see ANY results??

You should feel results immediately but you should really see results in a month. Only if you are eating properly.

And you need to get off the treadmill and run out doors for maximum effect.

Actually your body has already benefited from a wise choice you made...good for you. You see yourself everyday, so small changes are difficult to catch on to right away. Buy a scale and weight once a week, on the same day and at the same time if possible. Weighing every day is counter productive. You can see the results from the scale long before you can see them in a mirror, and this provides motivation. it may take 3 to 4 weeks before you yourself can see a small change, but do not be surprised if someone you see occasionally sees a change first.

I'm with you. I just started a jogging program too. A lot of it depends on your diet. If your trying to lose weight, I would stick to lean meats and veggies. It could be a couple weeks before you start "seeing" results, but you should feel better immediately.

It is excellent that you have started an exercise program. Exercise has many benefits other than weight loss, including improve cardiopulmonary conditioning, increased muscle mass, increase HDL (good cholesterol) etc.

Here's the bad news: It is very difficult to loose weight with exercise alone. Unless you are in terrific shape already you generally do not burn that many calories. Most people must change there eating habits too.

On the other hand, once you loose weight, exercise is very important in helping maintain the weight loss.

In about a month, but you'll need to add dietary changes, too. If you omit simple carbohydrates ( white bread, potatoes, pasta, cookies, etc), you'll probably see a change sooner.... you'll have more energy. Good luck with your program. I hope you invested in a good pair of running shoes because jogging can be hard on the feet if you run concrete.

if you eat right, lift weights & run...i'd say about 3-4 weeks to start seeing results and building momentum.

running or jogging alone will make you look like a smaller pear if you don't lift weights.

IT ALL DEPENDS UPON YOUR GASTRONOMICS AFTER THE WORK OUT. JUST DRINK TWO GLASSES OF WATER AND REMAIN FAITHFUL TO GOOD BREAKFAST, FRUGAL LUNCH AND MODEST DINNER. NO JUNKY FOOD AT ALL. IF YOU FOLLOW THIS IT WILL TAKE 2 WEEKS TO SHOW THE RESULTS.
