Well dragon,in Indian currency Vista is available for Rs 22000, i read the price in Hindustan Times in the 31st January 2007 issue.But i suggest you not to buy it coz let hte reviews come wait for 2-3 months,when xp was launched there were lot of problems in starting so get reviews and then act.Also you would need to fully upgrade ur pc to run software coz it's a heavy software and requires the latest hardware to run on it.

why do you want windows vista you mush have a high end computer with loads of memory, also a high end graphics card,
and before you buy it check it out, it still as lots of problems do your home work, it came out on the 1st and it had 22 updates that needed to be installed over the internet... leave it alone for six months.
PC magazines are telling their readers NOT to buy the basic version it is not worth the price they say. at $160.00

Windows vista basic version Rs.2000 only. and the upgrade version from XP will cost from Rs.4000-6000/- I heard this price list from NDTV. so, u check out with local dealers....

windows vista costs about 260$
i.e. about 12000 rs
shipping charges extra.

During their launch , they have told that in India (or may be other places) that it would cost same as that befre we had for the windows xp sp2

there is a 1.4 MB version of vista and office 06 ( no im not kiddin .. it compressed ).
extracts to 753 MB .. u can burn on dvd .. and then try to boot of it ..
but i have not tried it thou ..
do google search on it and u WILL get a rapidshare link ...
