I am Rh neg and I work in the blood bank.. or used to, haha!
Anyway, when you get pregnant with a baby that is Rh pos, your body recognizes that Rh protein as foreign and could build antibodies against it. So, when you get pregnant again with an Rh pos baby, these antibodies are in your system and will attack the baby's blood. It could cause a miscarriage.
But don't worry! As long as you get prenatal care, you will get RhoGam. That will block the Rh antigen and prevent any antibodies from being formed!

I am B-. Everytime I was pregnant I got a shot of Rhogam at 28 weeks.Everytime I gave birth the baby was checked for RH factor. If the baby had been positive I would have to receive a shot of Rhogam within 72 hours of birth to prevent antibody problems with subsequent pregnancies. All of my children are also a negative RH factor so I never needed the injection after the birth.

do not difficulty! As you say, absence of the rhesus ingredient would not generally have any consequence on the 1st being pregnant. it is likewise ok if your toddler's father in Rh Neg. or if your unborn babe is Rh Neg. despite if, could you be donning a toddler who's Rh beneficial, what occurs is that your individual immune equipment recognises that the beneficial toddler is a "distant places merchandise" and starts to offer antibodies, merely because it would in case you had, flu, as an occasion, to combat the intruder. those anti-bodies are not generally there in sufficient numbers to break a widely used toddler, yet could you substitute into pregnant with a 2nd Rh beneficial embryo, the defence equipment is already in place and could initiate an instantaneous attack. you will locate merely how small the hazards are, yet to be on the risk-free ingredient the anti D injection will handle any accessible rejection challenge. i'm A Rh Neg and my daughter substitute into O Rh beneficial; fairly no issues till she have been given to be a stroppy teenager!

for short they call that RH negative . You just have a negative blood type. If the fathers blood type is positive, you will need a Rogam shot before the birth. I myself and RH negative and pregnant. My blood type is A - and my boyfriends is AB +. I will need a rogam shot as well. You should get them before every pregnancy even if you get an abortion. I hope this helped...

I'm RH negative and took the shot with both my pregnancies. From what I understood, yes, your body might attack the baby. The shot is just very simple in the butt and not painful.

I am Rh positive
The only probem would be if you were preg. with a rh positive baby then you would make antiboties to that baby's blood. If you became preg again with another rh positive baby then your antibodies would hurt that baby. There is medication that you can take at the end of your first preg to prevent this.

It is an issue when a woman gets pregnant. If you don't get a rhogam shot with your pregnancy, even if you miscarry, not the first but subsequent pregnancies and child(ren) can have problems and complications.

Nothing. It means you can donate to anyone who is your blood type (or is compatible to your type), whether they are positive or negative.
But you can only receive from people who are also negative.
